Got a last chance to ride tellico yesterday before the closure for the winter. Wanted to hit slickrock one last time but found 30-40 rigs waiting at the bottom so we changed plans and went up Peckerwood...funny cause in all the years in tellico I've never been up it. Had fun. The motorcycle guys thought I was going to turn around :)

Got the nose of the xj wedged up the ledge and pulled cable.

On the way out at 6pm or so I got the impulse to drive up lower 2 again as I was heading out so we ground our way up that too...I always love the "How'd that cherokee get here?" comments from people. I had to pull cable twice on lower 2 just to get the diff's unstuck from rocks but managed to drive the rest of it.

Thats jerrys 3/4ton suburban VW...with those rear tires and the Small block 400 chevy motor you need to stay wwaaaayyyy back when hes climbing. I'd swear that thing shoots football size rocks out like cannon balls when he's turning high RPMS. He's frustrated by the length though and is going to put it on a K5 chassis. Cool enough to watch. 50 something inch tractor tires on the back and 44" tires on the front. Not my cup of tea but it works good...except that by the end of the day he'd blown both front axle shafts and melted the positive side cable off while winching out of lower 2. It was cool the he was mad that my xj made it through easier than his buggy. Lower 2 was muddy and wet...like someone had poured a cement mixer of mud down the whole trail.

When i see rigs like the Vduburban there I don't laugh any more! I just get the camera out and stay outa the way!!! Peeps with rigs like that aint afraid to wheel it. Hats off to em'.

Peckerwood looks like fun, I don't know if my rig could clear some of that. I hope i get a chance to wheel Tellico some day.

you could clear it. I'm only running 3" lift and 31" tires. Just had to be careful of the line so you didnt jamb the bumper. the winch pulled me up where the jeep didnt have a chance. I built this jeep to prove you can go extreme places with a DD type machine and cause I had a Rough Country hater over to the shop one day and got tired of his mouth. This jeep is all rough country except for the winch mount. See you in tellico for the cherokee crawl in July right?

I feel the same way you do, the challenge is to drive it there wheel it hard and drive it home. I'm on 31's, 4", locked/locked, I guess I would have a shot.

I would like to make it in July, we'll see.

travis, that slab where the bikes are at is that the appraoch to pecherwood ledge?
