KOH builds

Another question....where should this type of discussion be located?
I originally thought the Jeepspeed Prerunner forum was best. Cracker believed that my original thread asking about who was building a KOH car should be located in off topic.
Now this is located in Advanced Fab.
I don't know.
I'm still thinking that the KOH builds are more like Jeepspeed/Prerunner rigs than rockcrawler builds. Since this is a new type of build, where should we be locating it?
Here, Jeepspeed or Off-Topic?

I think the jeepspeed forum should morph into a racing forum, encompassing ultra4, rock crawling and desert events. It certainly could benefit from the traffic.

Hi Rick :)

Good. Been to two WF's and the Crawl last year. Harlan is a blast. Minor cleanup issues like the rollcage being bolted in with self tapping screws.

If all goes well, we'll wheel it in Moab in '13. The Corps wants me to stay in NC, so I'm stuck.

Is anyone building for KOH, or just the stock and stock mod?

Im guessing you mean for the unlimited class and not just stock class?

Yes there are a few racing KOH as discussed. ALl in stock class and none in unlimited, that I know of....

We're building for KOH, cause the winner of the stock class starts 100th in the big race. :D

Can you imagine 120 miles of rocks and desert in a full bodied car on 35's with a bunch of Ultra4 cars climbing up your ass all day? Could we finish by 10:00 pm? Should be an interesting day for the winner. :)

Robertk it is looking good. was over last night helping on it a little. Why is it you get to go home and jeff can't come out and play with us?LOL. Get to work.

I think we find a set of 37's to toss on it if it makes it to the big dance!

I am putting together and driving a stock class vehicle that is being built currently. Started out life as 2wd '92 Laredo but will be running a shaved 14bolt and a RockJock 60 front soon enough. It would not be possible without all the help and sponsorship from RWKmotorsports, Rock Krawler suspension,Yukon, Goodyear, Corbeau, Rad Shifters, Currie, and a list of many others. I hope to be able to do them all proud. Well here is the start...

Here's how mine is sitting right now.

I'm almost finished ? :helpme:

I'd love nothing more than to run an Atlas, Ruff Stuff 9's and bullet proof knuckles/axles but I don't have sponsors or cash so it'll be getting a rear 60, front 60(?) and possibly a 300. Either that or the 231 will go back in and we'll pray a lot. :D

Once it's built I still have to find a way to get it there. Driving it across country seems like a totally sane idea right ?

I'm thinking you don't need big axles (but I'd bet a 300 would be nice.)
Just remember you are only running 35" tires. A 30 and 8.25 would do fine.
Unless you plan on racing it often...
Keep it as light as you can.
