King of The Hammers 2011

Avery, you have coords for where you're camped out? So I can find you (and everyone else can avoid you)?

Well I am at:
N 34* 24' 56"
W 116* 30' 55"

basically as you go up to back door one of the last trailers (jag 30 ft white) with a F350 4x4 king ranch with it still in the camping area.

Tony and his bro will be here Thursday morning, and the GM for T-Rex grills (Old time friend) will be here tomorrow (wed) morning.

All is welcome, aas there is plenty of room currently. I will tape off some room just incase..

Its just past midnite, just got back from in the pink racings pits and talking with them, and just feel unreal here. No 3yo lil boy, No Wife, No Customers, no Phone calls, just peace and quite... Beer in hand and lifes good, even if its only for 4 days :-)

A friend of me (Alex - also from Austria) will be there. He told to visit the Team Naxja group and will bring greetings from me :wave1:
Wish you good luck there

so is it pretty easy just to follow the flow of the spectators and going around the track? its gunna be my first time to koh n just wanna make sure i dont go onto the track or in an area im not supposed to be.

They have it flagged off pretty well. there will be big groups of people parked close to the obstacles, and its pretty easy to just follow traffic around. It's not desolate by any means during the race.

Heading out in a few hours, robert i may swing by for a beer. Tan sportsmobile towing my XJ

See ya in the morning! Black F250 towing a white XJ. Hopefully I can find some of you. I've got a broken seat frame with a good motor for Gsequoia I was hoping to drop of to someone to get it trained.

Koh was awesome! Left @ 5am to head that way. Riding with some buddies. Just happened to be parked right & the start line (we thought they were starting further back so we just pulled up to park in a clear area at the end of the spectators zone), made it to Chocolate thunder in time to be right behind the crowds (lol) and then over to back door to catch the first rigs through it. Had a blast. Registering my XJ with tax $$ so next year I'll be driving myself out!

KOH was cool, I got some good pics and I got a video of a bunch of "pros" who didn't know how to flip a buggy back on its feet. I'll post these up tomorrow or whenever I have time.

So how was it with the designated spectator areas?

Did you all make the suggested $10 donation?

What was the BLM/LEO presence like?

I'm curious how things were in light of the California 200 accident.

I got back last night, and it was great. Hats off to the promoters, and the BLM, the $10 were worth every penny. The BLM was out in full effect, we saw the policing, politing, but firmly. They were giving out tickets for people without seatbelts (rhinos and things like that) as well as looking for people drinking and driving. All in all was very safe in my opinion, and well put on.

Also, congrats to Shannon, for showing them an IFS can indeed be King of the Hammers!!

Chris' rig looks kinda familiar. Glad things went well in light of recent events.
