Kentuckiana - Where to go offroading?

Where do you go offroading in the Kentuckiana region:

We have:
- Badlands 2 1/2 hours to the north.
- Dirty Turtle 1 1/2 hours to the north east.
- Lynnville 1 1/2 hours to the west
- Red River Gorge 2 1/2 hours to the south east. (Which by the way I have no clue where to go here)

Is there anything close to the Louisville area if someone wants to play around for a while without taking a road trip?

Dirty turtle is waaaay closer to Louisville the 1.5 hours.

Harlan something like 3.5 hours from louisville.
Coal Creek (Windrock) in Knoxville, bout same distance as Harlan.
Then you have Turkey Bay @ Land between the lakes.

Dirty turtle is by far the closest.

Big event at Harlan next weekend.

There's also a place about two hours from the ville in Indiana but the name is not coming to me now, has a trail there......

closest town to redbird is Dugger, IN.

so you can google the map. It's the middle of nowhere, stand on your truck to get cell service, kinf of place.

If you stand on the roof o your truck at the gas station (the small gas station, not the big one) you can get 1 bar of Verizon. Don't move though when you make a call!

gorge is great I can give you directions from the mountain parkway to some great trails if you want.

It is very easy to end up on private land at teh Gorge you need to go with someone who knows the trails.
