Just installed my D30 Lockright. My Impressions

I really like the Km2's. Aired down they have lots of grip, plenty life, and are quiet for off road tires. Plus they were on sale for around $100 off when I got them from 4wp.

I went with the front locker first since I wasn't sure what spline rear axle I have, but I'm glad I went with the front first, I can climb things now that I doubt I could do with just the rear locked. Also locking the front didn't change the way it acts on the street at all.

What's the diff between the full time and part time transfer case?

Mine says part time when engaged.

Yeah, front locker is where I would start. It will have no impact on road-driving when you're running 2wd but will definitely help you in those rough climb-outs.

The NP242 TC has both part-time and full-time 4WD while the NP231 TC ONLY has part-time 4WD. You can tell which one you have quickly by looking at the TC Shifter. The 231 will Have 4 settings: 2H, N, 4H, and 4L. The 242 will add a 4 Full-Time and re-label 4H as 4 Part-Time. (I think this is right...I have a 231 so I can't remember for sure).

The difference is that the NP242 adds a differential to the Transfer-Case, allowing the front and rear axles to rotate at different velocities, thereby allowing use in relatively high-traction scenarios (such as dry roads) that would stress the drive-train in Full-Time 4WD.

One of the wrenches can correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. :)

Yep, both midian and I have 207's in ours.

Correction, I have a 207/231 hybrid.

But I will tell you that the 207 and 231 are close to being the same. The only thing I don't like about my 271 is the gearing is 2:63 to 1 and the 231's are 2:72 to 1 (If I remember correctly)
