i had issues with mine when i was using the original 1978 h blocks and hardware. i bought 4 new hardware sets off of rock auto a couple months ago for like 3 bucks each and havent had issues since.
 
Having spares on hand like that forces Murphy's Law to work in reverse.

That's the garage fridge...that rarely holds beer :laugh:

Its more of a second fridge than anything. But yes...having the TV right there and beer in the fridge right next to you on Sundays while you work is fan-fukkin-tastic.

All my H-block and associated hardware are brand new, so I hopefully shouldn't have a problem! :D

There are two diesel trucks at the house...my F-250 and my buddy/roomates 93 First Gen.

We have a lot of stuff and vehicles between us.

At the house right now:

-2 Trucks, 2 cars, an XJ, an XJ buggy, his TJ as seen in the pictures, and my trailer...and we live in a Cul De Sac...

Well...FINALLY got the D60 painted...in balmy 35* weather :laugh:

I'm telling you what, man...Your rig brings the chubby. I'm really impressed, but you knew that already.
 
I'm not working Thursday or Friday (though I may be working on getting a project management test done). Going to try and get the D60 reassembled, back under the rig, and the rig back on its own weight before I leave Sunday for a week to head to Raleigh/RTP, NC for professional develoment training.

Its a Harbor Freight 4x6. This thing, even with the crappy HF blade, cut pretty DANG nice.

I cut an ~3/8 section off the tube you see clamped...all sides of the tube were within .004" :eek:

I just got my Parker flow control needle valve in today, so I'll be adding the hydraulic feed here in the next few weeks. Then, when i'm bored and want something else to work on, i'll probably add coolant feed to it as well.

With coupon, it ran me just under $200 out the door.

There are pages upon pages upon pages of modifications people have done with the various 4x6's out there...hell there is a Yahoo Group JUST for it.
 
We had one of those HF bandsaws at my last job and it kicked some serious ass. It's one of the few HF things I honestly recommend to people.
 
So...sitting here at DIA waiting for my flight to Raleigh...might as well give an update. :D

Well I didn't get AS far as I wanted to before I left today (get the buggy back on its own weight on the front as well). All that I need to do to get it back on all four is bolt the engine brace in and throw the ORI's on!

I must say...I've gotten the whole beadlock thing down. Dry erase markers and a markable surface FTW :D

So I know I fail at updates...I'll try getting some pictures this weekend.

Since my last post I've:

- Mounted Engine Crossmember
- Got front end back on its own weight
- Mounted the electronic "board" (hold the fuse pox, power distribution BUS's, etc)
- Got the driver's side UHMW boatside fully done
- Mounted some catch cans

Over the next couple days I'm going to:

- Get passenger side UHMW boatside finished up
- Get exhaust fully welded, painted, wrapped, sealed and mounted
- Get radiator lines run and radiator mounted

Currently waiting on a large order of firesleeve to get in. Once thats done I'll get all my electrical, hydro, and fuel lines sleeved and mounted. Once they are mounted...time to fire the thing up for real :D
 
Ive started following this build since you first posted it. One of my favorite threads. I wish i had the balls to to grab the sawzall.
