Just Another XJ on tons, coilovers, 42's, etc. Build

Can someone answer me this?

What's with the trend in putting a downward angle to the top bar of the "A" hoop/roof bar?

Is it just a look/aesthetics thing? Or is there some strength reason or other purpose? :dunno:

every BA buggy has to have angry eyes.... its just makes it looks like it means business ;)

Well, due to my DD XJ taking a sh*t on me...I haven't been able to make a whole lot of progress lately

But, never the less I have made some... (sorry for the big pics...tried resizing them in PhotoBucket with no luck)

Picked up an 8 Gallon Action Packer Baja Bin, and some sweet "Swag" to go with it :D

It will soon be dimple died to add further pimped-ness.

That, along with a radiator, battery, and fuel cell will all be sitting in the bed of the buggy...which I have also made a little progress on :D

Pics show ways i've mocked up the fuel cell and Baja Bin...

Justin....... that "Swag" thing for the Action Packer box....... did you make that or is this something a person can buy? I have a couple of those same boxes on the Truggy.... and that "Swag" thing is friggin' cool!

Yeah it's mainly for looks. I like it since to me it seems to flow more with the rest of the tube work. As well I guess it does add an "angry" element to it :D

Planning on Indy being a test run :D

I'll be honest though...not going to make COFest...just way to much to do still. I've got to be moved out of the place i'm living come the end of July as well...

Yeah, the "Jeep" is a far cry from what it used to be. Part of me is sad to see it come to this, but much more of me is fuggin STOKED!

Troy,
A company called SWAG offroad makes those mounts.

Yep...he got it :D

They aren't the cheapest, but to me it was well worth it!

Well I did a little more tonight...

Got the passenger side boatsides a little more finished:

Started narrowing the front header panel...yeah its in a pile right now :D

Hope to at least have the boatsides wrapped up tomorrow and the front header panel further along.

Well...finally another update. Had something happen last weekend that pretty much made me a mental/emotional wreck, so I had pretty much lost all motivation for anything, especially the rig.

Anyways...

Got some front tube work done, as well as got the new front clip narrowed for mock up. As well got the A-pillar sweep tube finished (theres 6+ bends in the damn thing), as i've had it sitting around for a bit, and the window supports:

With the front clip "in place":

Coming along, just waiting for the ORI's to get it a roller :D

Got some more tube work done on the front:

Re-did the upper panhard mount somewhat. Moved the hole down some, and added some weld washers to help prevent any wallowing:

Jeep2558.jpg

Did some rear tube work to incorporate the back bed some more and give it and the upper link mounts some more support:

Thats it for now...but the end of this weekend should produce a big one :D

:D

After looking some things over and flexing the suspension...looks like I want to change some "small" things.

*move rear suspension and front suspension forward 1-2"
*Inboard the axle side of the LCA mounts on the front suspension some

Gonna be a long productive weekend :D
