Junk Yard Parts Finds/Requests

Just came back from the pick a part in Ontario off of milliken and the 60 fwy. there were like 7 older xj, some were picked over but others had some good parts left. there are a couple of 96 and older headliners, one of which had a sound bar. great interior components for older xjs. none of the axles that i checked were above 3.54 ratio.

hope this helps someone out.

What good yards are available around the San Diego area? I know PYP and Ecology in Chula Vista, however PYP hardly ever has the Jeep I need ('97+ XJ) and Ecology always wants a ton of money for parts and also hardly has the Jeep I need.
I've been itching to upgrade either the rear drums to discs or an '01+ WJ steering pump. I went to both yards on Sunday, found only a couple ZJs and no '97+ XJs, definitely no '01+ WJs either. Also if I could know what the going rate for a rear end would be. Thanks.

Went to PYP on Beach in Stanton today. They had a mostly complete 90 limited 4x4 and a 2dr 2001 2wd and a couple of grand cherokees, 1 with V8.

Nice to meet you PhotoMike.

Hesperia PAP, plenty of cherokees over there, and complete ones mind you that. 2 98 style complete front clips, etc..just a heads up

Thats cool :) I will be going there next month to grab some parts so that is good to know for sure :). Anyone know if there are any 1993ish model YJ out there by chance? I need a new sidemarker and bulb harness (holder thing) lol and maybe other things off them including a 33 inch tire to use as a spare (I have a 32 on it atm).

I smashed my driver side tail light on my 2000 last week up in Big Bear. I was doing the "I don't need to pick a line!" approach to 4wheelin. It would seem that by lookin at the side of my Jeep, I actaully did need to pick a line through the rocks. If anyone has a spare 97-01 driver side tail light, let me know. Also if anyone goes down to a yard near the IE and sees one from a 97-01, please pick it up for me. I havn't had any time to go myself.

hey guys i and a buddy were looking for renix resivors or replacement ones and found nice ones in BMWs and Mercedes. they are a pressure bottle like the xjs but have a regular radiator cap and allows waster to go into a overflow tank. i put it on today and so far it works great! just figured i would tell you all about that.

oh also there is a 97+ from cash for clunkers in one of the jys here. it is all complete the only thing you can not take is the block or the head

MJ gas tank skid for a short bed :)

I can only speak from my experiences at the Oceanside ecology but a rearend can be 100-200, depending on car or truck, Station wagon is my answer of choice. But hey i also got a set of t-tops, the lady called them car windows, and i wasnt about to argue

Now that the clunkers are in the yards, if anyone finds this can you pick it up for me? I'll pay you the cost + your favorite 6 pack next time I'm in town.

ZJ rear seats, dark gray cloth, this pattern:

Hi All,

I'm looking for a Ford 9 inch out of a F150 or E150 to shorten to xj width. How easy / difficult are these axles to find at the local junk yards?

Thanks for any info!

Most of the 9" at the yard are hammered or have already had their third members pulled.

Since you plan on shortening it anyway and welding on ends and getting shafts cut or new ones, why not start off with a aftermarket housing (i.e. Spidertrax, MAD. currie, RuffStuff, Balistic, etc). They can start at $329 but most of the nice ones start at $480.

I'll go that route eventually, but custom housing, 35 spline axles, case, gears, bearings etc goes over 2k.

For the time being, I was hoping to find a complete f150 housing which is 31 spline and big bearing, shortening just one side to bronco length and regear. This way all i have to purchase new is a bronco axle, gears and reuse all the old stuff for under 500 bucks hopefully.

That's a pretty loaded comment there, Cracker!!
