June 12th Corral Canyon

A few from SoCal XJ are heading that way rather than the mountains. I will be going with them also (need to be in Santee that evening)
Plan on testing my lockers for sure!

Where is corral canyon?

Its in San Diego county off fwy 8 near Lake Moreno. The exit is Buckman Springs. Just Runs has instruction on how to get there.


About 1.5 hours east of san diego.

There is camping there too. I'm trying to find out how to reserve spots but I've never seen more than a couple tents there at any given time

There is open camping at Corral Canyon (no reservations) but there is a full hook-up campground at Lake Morena , need reservations (most of the time) at Lake Morena not so at CC. They are on either side of the lake.

Is Bobcat Campground a first come first serve campground? Its in a perfect spot right between bonco and sidewinder.

I was up there last weekend. It was great, not hot during the day and not cold during the night and it wasn't crowded either. Be sure to check out the fire lookout, great view. The ranger, Burt, said there are plans to reroute Bronco Peak trail this Fall. It is going to be a joint effort between the USFS and the San Deigo 4wheelers. Anyone can voluter, I know I will. So enjoy Bronco because it will be different come fall, hopefully for the better.

I don't believe they have a reservation system for the ORV parks in Cali.
And I don't think I have ever seen more than one other camper there before...shouldn't be a problem

I cant lead this run Saturday. I've been having back problems that is'nt getting better. I'm looking for someone else to lead this run, I know Dave can and it looks like you Rick know the trail so I'd appreciate it if one of you can lead it.

I have been looking out for my neighbor (Tom West) He mentioned that he wanted to go along also. Although I am not sure ....I think hes been all though Corral Canyon before. I'll post info when I find him.

Where are you all going to meet and what trail are you going on. I would like to go but I have not yet got my tools together for my jeep. I am locked in the rear and air locker in the front. my brother and did bronco peek a few weeks ago it was cool. he has all the tools so that is why I felt safe going with him. my e-mail is [email protected] so if you could let me know that would be great.
