so what is the difference on a JK vs TJ rubicon cases? I can't seem to find anything on it.

Mainly that the JK doesn't have a speedo gear.

a friend of mine has a tj case with a tone ring and no speedo gear as well

I own a TJ one too, but whether you call it a gear, drive, or sensor the JK doesn't have anything. Plus the JK uses a different input gear.

Yes it bolts right up.
But you won't have any kind of speedo signal at all.

IIRC there was a way to trigger it off of the tone ring on a Ford 8.8 third member if you have one? Maybe involved shaving every other tooth off?

Also I was searching Ebay for a 241 and are the 241DHD and 241D geared the same? they come out of the dodge trucks

tj forums are the best place to look for the tj ruby 241, ive seen 2 come up for sale over the last month.
