Jeepspeed Rear Leafs

Whats the advantage to spring under?

Run a longer spring - longer=better. Helps with wrap. Spring won't go negative arch under full compression which helps them live longer. Longer spring also gives more ability to play with spring rates.

deavers will most likely be my next leafs. i killed my RC springs this weekend. im done messing around with sucky leafs

I wanna bump this a little.

I trying to find more info about springs and not having the best luck with search.

I plan to do a little more go fast stuff than anything else, but would the Deavers really be too stiff for rocks and not really flex well?

Also, does anybody have any info/opinions on the Clayton 6.5 springs vs Deavers?
I plan to go Clayton for LA's after I get my new XJ drivable and am not sure if I should just go with the included springs or if they would be too soft.

That's all I can think of right now. haha

Edit: I know this isn't the right thread for this, but what do most go Jeepspeed guys do for front suspension? 3 link? 4? for some reason I was thinking that Clayton and most companies did four links but after looking a little more, it seems that isn't the case. If someone could just point me in the right direction before my wrong information gets any wronger.

Thanks.

I know there were a couple guys running under spring set up when Jeepspeed first started, but then it was outlawed. If my memory serves me right they were built by Deaver, but I don't remember how they set up the shackle. Im sure Deaver can help setting up the right spring length/ shackle combo. I have been thinking about this also to get some extra travel, I have Deaver's race pack right now.

In discussions with Deaver, they don't have a "bolt-in" setup that will work with spring-under. When the 2011 rules were being discussed and the possibility of running a spring-under presented itself, we discussed it with Deaver. The issue is the longer length of the spring. We already have to run an extended shackle for their current spring and would need a longer shackle or move the mounts or both.

We would love to go spring-under.

Diesel,

Im guessing we would need a long shackle similar to what is used on the rangers?? Which would be cutting into the floor board? and/or building a drop/extended shackle mount to lower/extend the mount? wish I had cash so I could work it out!!

I know you don't want to let out your secrets!!!
