finally got my jeep done:D now my engine isnt running good:( . i need to figure out whats wrong with is soon so i can go this season.

What is the D44 out of? What flat tops did you use? The steering looks good.
When's the test run?

the 44 is out of a 79ish f-150 with f-250 nuckles and hubs. i was going to test it out this weekend but the engine isnt running to good, if i can get it to run good then i will take it out this weekend. the steering is 1.5"OD 1/4" wall DOM:eek: ....no more bent steering for me!!!

How about the high steer arms? Where'd you get those?
Can't tell in the pics but did you change from your old long arm setup to using the stock Ford radius arm C bushings?

i got the arms from rock equipment for $86 a piece. i made all new arms and a bracket that bolts onto the c bushings. the only thing store bought that i didnt make is are the springs and upper trac bar mount.
 
i have no idea whats wrong with it so im going to take it to jeep so they can diagnose it. it sucks though!!!!! i wanted to test it out but i cant.....the guys at the dealership will probly test it out first.
 
its doesnt start up very good, it misses alot, its backfires through the intake sometimes, is gos ok until you give it some gas. when you take of it gos good untill it gets to about 20 mph then it gets messed up. its really wierd. i chainged the map, tps, coil, spark plug wires, and i chainged my cps and fuel pump and filter about 1 year ago so those shouldnt be bad. im tired of guessing!!!!
 
Fuel injectors? If it's backfiring, it's lean. Could also be a vaccum leak causing the backfire. Timing is controlled by the computer and is non adjustable.
Try installing my Ford injectors that are laying in front of Jason's shop.
Do you have all the vaccum lines connected correctly?
 
Brian is it a HO or Renix?

If HO, have you changed out the cam shaft position sensor on the distributor? If your getting good presure at the rail, then it's definitely not your fuel pump or filter, it sounds like more of a timing issue.

Mine has been a big PITA!, I understand your pain. On mine will only spurter when the engine gets warm, then if I turn it off, I can start it until after I lift the hood and let it cool for abotu 10-15 min. My next step is to insulate the connections, otherwise hope you find it. If it's 93' or newer you have the onboard diag computer.
 
i found out what the problem is!!!! it was my fuel pump, i changed it not even a year ago so i didnt think that was the problem:confused:. i didnt want to buy a new fuel pump so i just put in a fuel cell :D .

i took it out to prairy city on sat. and did the park like nothin. didnt have any problem with any thing, i went over everything there at almost every angle. it did really good!!

but i did have alittle problem with the park rangers:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: . they gave me a ticket for no fenders and no mirror( i have a mirror but i guess its too small:confused: ) i was inside the park also.....i asked him how he could give me a ticket inside the park when there was dirtbikes and quads and buggies that drive around in there all the time.

IM PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

That sucks about the ticket dood... something sounds fishy there.
 
you have some big mud-flaps right? were they on at the time? even if they weren't but you normally run them on the road, it should be real easy to get out of the ticket. The law is very vague and only states that you must minimize rearward splash from your vehicle, which bug mudflaps would do regardless of flares.

i have huge mudflaps on there but im not really pissed about getting the tickit its where i got the ticket...you would think that at a OHV park it wouldnt matter considering there are dirtbikes and all other stuff riding around us.
