JeepEV Electric Vehicle Conversion

35 mile range, then a 2 hour charge?

sounds pretty worthless.

That sounds great. Remember seeing that along time ago on here. If I had thousands of $ to do it I would. That way I could drive to the corner store for milk and cookies ,then re-charge. Seriously, If you could get enough mileage out of it w/out needing a whole bunch of batt's , thennnnn. It should be more feasable in the future.

Actually I could get to work and back on that, maybe a couple days worth of driving if it's all I was doing (kinda like right now on my pay at $3.25 a gallon:flamemad: )

Electric motors cost money. So do batteries. So does charging that thing. Your time is worth money too.

I bet its cheaper to just drive your Jeep as is than spend all that money.

It would probably be more efficent in anything smaller and lighter than a Jeep (and pretty damn quick too), now I could just plug the thing in overnight so I wouldn't need to go and get gas (less fuel, time, and money spent there). So long as they're taken care of, batteries can have a long lifespan and be recharged plenty of times, instead of just having to burn and replace it like gas. Should be interesting to see what happens when plug in hybrids that use powertrains like what a diesel/electric locomotive uses and Lithium batteries to pull the juice from.
