most likely will be totalled out
old couple pulled right out in front of me while I was doing 35-45
now I guess it's up to the insurance companies

yeah, the couple went to the hospital, me and my friend rode with the jeep to my house My foot and arm is a bit sore, old guy had a cut on his arm, lady was havin some probs breathin i think. If the airbags had NOT depplayed, they would have been fine. Seatbelt saved me front eatin the steerin wheel and my frined from a mouthful of dash. Overall, I'm just pissed because it was my only transportation
Curious, police said it was their fault, i only have liability....i should get a buyout or whatever right?

That's what they SHOULD give you, but some insurance co's like shorting people too. Just don't let their insurance co jerk you around. If you have to, get a lawyer, at least that's what I'd do. I hope you get the full amount. What's right is right ya know.

im not lookin to get like 10k or anything, I just want what im entitled to.... enough to get another vehicle.

They never give you book. Give them the "here is what it takes to buy what I had' line and bring stuff from car ads and cars.com to prove it. Then when that doesn't work and it rarely does get the Lawyer. Good Luck

Actually depending on the insurance company it often does. Find what a comparable vehicle would run and give them the adds. If you have the vehicle in your possesion, clean out the inside (remove the trash and make it look semi decent :D) but don't go overboard (I removed the floormats and seat covers from mine and it looked spotless: the adjuster was pretty impressed with the condition and that raised it's value a bit to counteract the high miles I had)

I've fought with insurance companies a lot and bringing them ads and quotes and stuff like that doesnt work here in Florida. They wind up saying, "yes yes but what do they actually sell for? Thats just the asking price."...usually for all the struggling and argueing I get them to come up about $600 from their first offer. I sell used cars and often have to bat for my customers who would just roll over and take nothing.

i dont know who their insurance is, mine is USAA...been very good to us so far.

ask you own ins co how to handle this... i have had my ins pay up for repairs and they took the figth to the other guys co for me after i was fixed and on the road..

while it IS fixable, it's not feasable. Mine's USAA, theirs is State Farm (just got the report today). I called my ins. last night, so I think things are rollin. They are supposed to have an adjuster out to look at the damage within the next 3 days or so (what they say at least). Now it's just a waitin game.

make sure you pull anything off of it you want to keep before they come look at it. oftentimes they wont give you anything extra for aftermarket stuff. obviously if its lifted, i wouldnt yank the suspension out from under it or anything like that but CB, interior accessories, some roof racks, winches, all that good stuff. good luck.

Yeah, im gona yank my cd player and speakers, the rest I don't care about. I looked at it some more a few minutes ago, and the body is fawked. The doors are straight and whatnot, but they don't line up anymore. the rear seat is bent (think the 60lb head had something to do wit hit!). The lower control arm on passenger side is bent bad. the axle is prolly a few inches back, fender is demolished, radiator is demolished but holding fluid. Im just wonderin what the buy-back value might be. I'm "hopin" for about 2500$ and maybe like a 300 buy-back. If I get that, I will be as happy as a school girl.

finally got around to cleaning everything out of the jeep tonight......this just really f-in sucks. when I call the adjuster tomorrow, im also gonna see about gettin a damn rental. Bummin rides the last few days has been crappy.

Got a rental today...
Camry, not an XJ, but still nice as shiot. Fully loaded. Still haven't had an adjuster look at the jeep. Let the FUN BEGIN!
