Jeep 2500 vs 2700

looks like the difference is 200 to me :woohoo:

I can't find anything but pictures when I google, unfortunately.

You guys may already know this, but I just found out there is a Jeep 2700. Does anyone know the difference between the 2500 and 2700?

I think you're referring to the turbodiesel Cherokee models. The XJ came with a 114hp/222lbft 2.5L VM Motori turbodiesel engine while the WJ came with a 163hp/295lbft 2.7L Mercedes-Benz CRD (common-rail diesel) engine. The KJ had a 2.8L CRD engine developing 160hp/295lbft.

im in china right now and yes.. the 2700 is a diesel.. but dont be confused... the jeep 2500 and 2700 are not built like the USA jeeps.. they are crap made from chinese steel and are not good.. they wheel good but they fall apart vary fast.. .. when u come to china u will know . the XJ 2500 is chinese built while the rubicon and JK's are american built! also the Fj crusier are chinese built.. the only diff they have is no lights on the side mirrors.. also .. when u buy a xj here new .. is 1/8 of the price of a jk.. a jk here goes for around 500,000 RMB which in us currency is about 75,000 and the SRT8 jeeps are about 1.5 million RMB which in turn is 250,000 us dollars .. just a fun fact.. on how jeeps are prized around the world!

Wow. The SRT is nice, but not that nice. Maybe I'll just stick with my '99 XJ and put on the 2500 front end.

china sucks at alot of stuff.

I can see quite a bushiness for importers
ya that is the kind of business our country needs to be doing. IT could potentially fix the economy. More EXPORTS!

Been talking to a co-worker about sending Jeeps over to Cambodia. They do demand more than our theory of top-dollar.

pretty sure china has a 100% import tax on vehicles. so even if they were fetching 250k, you would only get 125 and you would have to buy it, get it over there, do a panty load of paperwork, and find a buyer. You could still turn a profit but it wouldn't be close to 500%.
