anyone who got the flares, do the front flares come with the side moulding (so called water proof) integratged into the flare? Like if you wanted to get the flares and not the side cladding, would their be a little stub of side cladding there to cut off or something?

Yep the front flares do have a nub that blends into the 'water proof' side cladding. The doors have a seperate pieces, and in my opinion they look a bit weird if they are missing and you were to use the front flares......

Wow. I can't believe I read all 43 pages. I need to get a life eh? This stuff looks awesome guys. Congrats to everyone who put this stuff together and did it, especially Chris. :D

I might be up for the next order. As things progress I'll just have to check the cash flow.

Chris, - What was this waterproofing kit you ordered anyway?

Its just the plastic cladding / decortive trim, think ground effects... but on the door bottoms. It serves no purpose other than looks.

I still have the front end sitting in my garage ... i want to put it on so bad!!! My Jeep is my only vehicle, or else id take it to a custom body place and have them do the work on the fenders.

I hear ya man...... All my stuff is just sitting in the garage waiting for the time to do it. I'm itching to do it pretty bad!

Man, I should really log into these forums more often. My buddy and I have a project '87 XJ (w/ factory D44 rear) that we're slowly building up with '95 4.0HO engine/5spd trans. It needs new front fenders, bumpers, front clip, lights, etc. Sounds like this was a killer group buy and was cheaper than going with US-equivalent replacement parts.

I'd be interested in the next group buy, if there ever is one...

Looks good everyone, I'd like to see more pics of completed Jeep 2500 conversions!

Next group buy starts on 9.22.08........ Look for the new thread! :)

im going to want to get in on this too now. definitely encouraging to see you guys finally got your parts. the tail lights are rad.

I've been debating on whether to get the bare essentials for the front end (lights, grille, fenders) or to get the whole damn thing. I just finished trimming my fenders front and rear, so the rears might pose a problem for those flares. Does anyone know if the rear bumper endcaps with lork w/ the newer xj bumpers? or do they have one specifically for the 2500?

If I got the whole thing, thats a hell of a lot more surface to have to paint, and I'd either not be able to wheel it, or have to lift more to keep from having to trim.

If the new thread starts the 22nd, when would payment be due? I just left my last job and it'll be 3 to 4 weeks until I get the first paycheck from my new job, so I don't have any disposable income until then.

The endcaps will work, but will need some trimming. I believe the 2500 uses the 96- rear metal bumper, with a plastic cover over it, so if you grab a cheap old style bumper at the junkyard.

I slipped the 2500 end cap on my 00 XJ:

Then notice what seems to be a plastic cover over the rear bumper:
