I got my membership packet and sticker in the mail the other day.

Now I just need to get the damn thing running right, decide what route I'm going to take with it, and free up some weekends to get some wheeling in.

It's not much to look at right now, pretty much a Chili Pepper Red bone stock 99 Sport. I'll throw up some pics when I get home.

Seen quite a few running around Gardner. I know all the Scout guys around here, but haven't really talked to any XJ owners.

The young grasshopper must have patience...then one day he will truely "understand". If you does not understand then he might die.........

I saw your "IH" license plate in your avatar....I was told by one of my buddies that the "IH" symbol was a way for dyslexic people to say "HI" to each other!! I thought that it was pretty funny, but again, I do indeed "understand"!

I think I am starting to understand the Jeep thing... It's leaks, clunks, sparks, and sensors failing.

I'm sure I'll start to enjoy my XJ a little more once I get all the bugs worked out of it.

As Blake (KSXJ) old me, they only "leak horse power"!! I feel your pain on those little gremlins that just annoy the piss out of ya. I had my trail rig running great the past year and then it started acting up and sprung a "small" fuel leak. As I worked to get that fixed, I brought it out on a test drive to "shake it up a bit" to see if it would leak fuel again...then I spun a main bearing and the motor is shot (so I am told). So now it is time to dismantle it and sell off the lift parts and the ones off the DD and go 6.5 LA on it....hell, its just money, ya make more everyday!!!

Welcome aboard now as a member  ...most of these guys a nuttier then squirrel turds!!

It's not "leak" horsepower...it's SWEAT HORSEPOWER! (like a 4.0 has any to waste!) Welcome to the addiction, and the debt, and the...well you'll see soon enough!

Heh, mechanically the 4.0 is a great motor, it's all the crap they put on it for emissions and to make it run that sucks. :repair:

I'm trying to stave off the addiction for now, we've got a baby on the way. Have to see how the budget looks after she's born.

I suppose I could always sell the 4 Dana 44's I have sitting in the garage or even the 60 front. Could make enough money off the 60 to buy wheels, tires, a lift, and bumpers for the XJ.

there will be a few people at Sheridans(off sante fe in olathe) for icecream tonight. I am hoping to make it, but it will depend if I finish installing my rock rails and if I need to do some trail clean-up for a run tom.

I might be able to stop by, but I don't think I'll be in the area. I've got some errands to run tonight since I'll be playing army this weekend.

So...what about those D44's? What you got?

They are all from under a Scout II. Passenger drop fronts. One pair is open with 3.54s and missing the rear brakes. The other pair is locked f&r with 3.73's and an SSBC disc brake kit on the rear.

About 6 months ago I had a ford front D44 out of a 79. I scrapped it because at the time it was worthless to me... oops.
