It's cold

Yeah, it's days like this that keep me from missing Patrol..... but only just a little.

I'd actually like to get the fawk outta here and play outside for a living again.... 4+ years in this stink-hole...... enough already.

But I digress....... :D

I hate coming out in this and not being able to fix a problem. I still have tochrge them for coming out and they hate it but gawk its -10 windchill and 6+ inches deep in snow.....my mustache is frozen for christs sake

That was our high temp for the day. It was -18 when I took the kids to school. It snowed another foot over the weekend with wind. I was digging through waist deep drifts to get to the shop yesterday. I don't recall moving to the friggin Antarctic.

Tonights forecast.

Tonight: Patchy fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around -23. Wind chill values as low as -35. South southwest wind around 5 mph.

This is frostbite weather. You need more than a moustache for cover.

Oh yeah, welcome to Colorful Colorado! :)

Seriously........ I was wearing shorts last night :D

It was -10 yesterday morning near my house according to my govt jeep patriot as I was filling up. I thought I moved out of Montana. Global warming my arse.

Yup, i feel your pain. It'll be a brisk 71 here today, Brrrr =]

Time to move south, seriously/ the crazy cold gets old quick. Those mountains are the only thing keeping me here

Yall a bunch of sissy girls ............... it aint cold yet!

This isn't cold. It might rate as chilly but not cold. I grew up at Walden and -40 was common and I saw -62 the first winter there. You didn't have the option of staying inside, you had to get out and feed the cows. At -20 the cattle ate 1/4 bale of hay a day to stay warm. At -40 they ate 1/2 a bale and at -60, they ate 3/4 of a bale. At -40 and colder you had to feed them twice a day and make sure they had some hay to bed down on. They still don't use machinery much up there in the winter, they use teams of horses and sleds. They are self starting and respond to voice commands.

Your condolences accepted. Actually I spent 5 years there. At least you learn to cope with the cold and drive in the snow. Finished high school in Longmont.

I've got lots of interesting stories about growing up there.

Sounds like most of Montana, those were the days....... I long to forget.

Coldest I ever seen here was -54. We had to put weedburners under the truck to get it started, that was even with a block heater. My job was to pack coal to the stoves and keep the house from freezing. It was the only time they ever closed school here because of weather. That same storm snowed 3 feet in 2 days-no big deal but the wind blew like crazy when the storm moved out. We had snow drifts over the house. I watched from the bay window 2 huge V plows work most of the night to open the county road to one lane of traffic. The snow on the sides of the road was taller than our fullsize bronco. It was cool to see, but I hope I never do again!

florida and rest of the south posted the coldest december on record in 2010,

we have had all kinds of below zero mornings at my house this winter, 2009 it was below zero at my house for nearly 3 weeks in november.december, even during the day. the news is reporting snow in 49 of the US states this week including Hawaii.

I sure hope the global warming gets here before we all freeze to death.
