I am looking to get some cheap internet. No home phone so can't do dial up, just looking for some DSL/Broadband internet on the cheap. Nothing extremely fast, just so I can browse the web and youtube...already have web on my phone and really don't want to pay for internet, but girlfriend just bought a new comp and would hate for it to go to waste. Tried to pick up free Wifi at the complex that I live in, but so far its a no go and I hate having to navigate on my phone all the time when I want to look something up.

Any ideas on who offers decent internet service like less than $20 a month....guy I work with says he has Northstate Communications and he pays less than 20 a month with tax and everything for broadband connection, but went on their website and I see nothing of the sort.

My local electric company has FIOS. I have a 10 meg up/down connection for $35.

Probably cause it's grouped in with his phone line and they cut him a deal. Back when we still lived up there, we did the same thing, but got tired of dealing with Northstate and went over to Time Warner.

What cable do you have now? Time Warner will haggle quite a bit to get your service. The originally quoted me $100 for digital cable and road runner when I moved earlier this year, but I got them down to a little over $70.

Try to unlock your phone then teather from it... Free fast and so easy even a caveman can do it.

Buy android phone with unlimited data. You can get this for as cheap as $30 through virgin mobile. Use teathering and enjoy unlimited internet. You also get unlimited texting and some phone call minutes.

Dont do Hughes net.. they suck.
Verizon you can get a 10 foot wired antenna with 4g usb netcard i had it for a while it was pretty good. I lived out in the boonies and it picked up signal. It was $70 month for 5gig . No gaming but browsing the net is good.
