Is this cool? Am I just missing something??

I bet it's gutless and rides like sh*t. I'd bet a stock KJ has more power, rides better, and is more capable off road than that. Not to mention it doesn't look quite as gay stock.

If it had a 2.8 and a front solid axle swap maybe.
 
Wow, this is the second one that ive seen that was lifted, but the first was a SAS. Of all the choices why liberty's? Their are so many better options, and im cool with people being different, but this is just stupid, the previous owner probably sold it when they realized how much negative attention they were getting.

The posting was gone so I didn't get any info on the one posted.

I wheeled with a guy with a lifted Liberty while I was in Moab a couple of years ago (he is part of NAXJA) and the thing did VERY well. It wasn't a significant lift and I don't know about any other mods but it did well, had plenty of power that I could see.

I don't like the looks of the Liberty at all but it seems to be a much more appropriate sized SUV to wheel around the NW than any of the other Jeep vehicles.

I know there is at least one with a SAS running around the NW. What I don't understand is spending $8k on a SAS and running a Dana 30 instead of a 44 or 60. :doh:

Why would it cost 8K to do the SAS? Are you talking about taking it to a shop and having it done? I assume there isn't a kit for them?

It's not like you would want to fit that big of a tire under it to need more than a D30 is capable of and the D30 is probably a much better fit/width/pinion, etc?

The guy paid a shop to do it and was running 37s IIRC. 8k is a lot to spend to put a Dana 30 under a rig, and they are not that much smaller than an XJ.
 
8k!!! seriously wtf, you could buy a sweet low mile xj and build it with that much dough...Should have let me invest that money for him...Actually this might be a bit more.
