I am from Utah and there are a lot of places near SLC to go wheelin and a bunch within about 20-30 mins away.

I am not looking for anything hardcore just somewhere close to go mess around, I finally have the Jeep built enough to go wheelin and just need a quick fix maybe some place with some cool scenery or what not.

I know of Cow Mountain, Hollister, Rubicon, and a few others but I am looking for something closer to me. In SLC I can think of about 5 places I could drive to in about 20 minutes and go do some pretty good wheelin.

I know this is not Utah but I would think there has to be something around here. Most places that I have seen are all private property:farmer: or state parks.

Like you mentioned Cow Mtn, plus in the same general area around Clear Lake off of Hwy 20, it's been a few years but I think it was "Wilbur Springs Rd". We had a lot of adventures back there, there are all sorts of two-tracks up in those hills.

BTW- No one from NorCal says "Cali". It makes you look like a tourist from Utah. JK

Just past Ukiah and east on HWY 20 is the turn off for Potter Valley. Then from Potter Valley there is an old logging road that leads to Lake Pillsbury. There are many trails in the Pillsbury area.

A place I have never been but believe is close is Knoxville. I believe it's just north of Lake Berryessa.

I just found out about Pillsbury today it looks like a cool place. I will look into the other place just north of Berryessa too.

Thanks for the replies guys.
