is there any way to improve the heater in the jeep?

Check for the vacuum leak - or just replace the vac line from the reservoir up to the firewall.

Back flush the heater core – it’s amazing how much crud can build up in there. I usually just plan on replacing the heater hoses and the plastic valve (don’t know what year you got). That way I can just use a razor and peel the hoses off the heater core rather than risk damaging the core. The valve (I know it’s in the 91 – 95, don’t know about later) will either break while you are moving the hoses around, or 2 weeks later. Thinking about it, you could probably just run the hoses direct for the winter. . .

If that doesn’t work, look for a 12volt blanket that plugs into the cigarette lighter – $20 and up – get one big enough to cover the entire back seat, and pull a seat cover over it. The trick is to sit on it, rather than try to cover up with it. Put some carpet scraps down on the rear floor for extra insulation for the feet, and add a few travel blankets.

Repair air leak
Insure your bypass value is FULLY opening/closing. If you have a late model insure the blending gate is operating.
Replace heater core.
Repair/replace any door/window/hatch gaskets as need. Run hand around door as you drive to find draft. Check around window cranks and door release leavers. The factory did little or not to seal the crank and lot of cold gets in there.

Best option would be to fix the vacuum leak. The other option would be check into a VW older beetle or bus with the air cooled engine. Those heaters were ok at heating. They ran at 12VDC. Do a resistance check of your blower motor. Also see what voltage you are getting at the plug while on high. It should be close to 12VDC. If not either the switch, relay, or blower motor resistor. The resistor is normally bypassed on high though.

Normal beetles were colder than shit unless you added an auxillary heater that actually burned gasoline in a little furnace with a little spark plug. Worked good but cut the gas mileage in half.

i know the heater core isnt blocked i checked that and it was flowing pretty good how it should its gotta be the vacuum lines but i put a brand new engine in and havent put the ac coolant stuff in yet does that have anything to do with the heater im not sure if they work together or not

No, the air conditioning is separate. Find the vacuum leak, then see where you stand. It got to 16 below here last year, and I had to make a 3 hour trip. I was nice and toasty barrelling down the interstate (what's the windchill effect of 75mph at 16 below? 2 degrees Kelvin?). You shouldn't be freezing unless you have a problem. Knowing what year Jeep you have would probably help. Specifics are always good.

:roflmao:

How about a grille cover like the big rigs use.

The heater core is before the engine so engine temps dont mean anything compared to the radiator temps.
