This means in the most difficult terrain, this suspension will keep you moving forward.

FRONT END

* Abuse this lift on the trail with confidence. 2" x 5/16" wall DOM make up the long arms so you know they are strong.
* These long arms also feature an inboard directed bend that allow you to clear 37" tires at full lock steering without rubbing on the control arms! This means you will retain the tight, nimble steering your XJ has always offered you.
* Included is our unique caster adjuster bracket will allow you to perfectly set your caster after installation. It gives 7.5 degrees of adjustability, which is more than enough even if you intend on going taller later on!
* The long arms are the ideal length for the 4.5-8" of lift, perfectly centering your axle and tires on compression.
* You'll get as much travel as your shocks will allow (DT8000 shocks will afford you the longest travel for this lift).
* The double shear track bar conversion gets you several upgrades in one! First, it is made from 1.25" solid cold rolled steel so strength is not a concern. Second, it is longer than the factory bar and others that mount in the factory location giving you better suspension geometry and less bump steer. Third, the frame side bracket lowers the mounting point by about 3/4" giving you an even better track bar angle. Finally, the ball joint style mount is eliminated and replaced with a stronger set up that allows infinitely more articulation than the ball joint (or more simply put, it will not limit your suspension from flexing out).

SUBFRAME

* Keep your belly high with the highest clearance Cherokee subframe available!
* All 1/4" steel construction. All the subframe parts are laser cut and precision CNC brake formed.
* Three piece design. This allows you to remove the center section so that you can work on/remove your transfer case and transmission without having to mess with your suspension! That's right, your long arms stay bolted securely in place while the center crossmember is removed.
* We have included a built in 1" drop option that gives you the choice to easily drop your t-case for better driveshaft angles. This option is standard and is not required for those who have, or will install, a slip yoke eliminator. Either way, you have the option to use the drop or not at no extra charge!
* Each frame mount covers a lot more surface area than the factory crossmember, spreading the stress of the drivetrain and suspension over a much larger uni-frame surface area.
* It is bolt in! This makes it simple to install for anybody with basic hand tools. For those of you who prefer a weld in kit, the subframe parts are also great to weld in place for even better strength.

REAR END

* 5.5" ultra premium leaf spring packs featuring: military wrapped Berlin eye ends, 6 thin leaf design, tapered ends with teflon anti-friction pads.
* 1" heavy duty lift shackle not only gives you the additional inch of lift, but also improved suspension articulation in the rear of your XJ.

*Note: Running 33" tires will require minor fender trimming in some cases.

This kit is used to lower the upper and lower control arm mounting points when the XJ is lifted at least 4.5". Lowering the arms mounting points reduces control arm angles and substantially improves ride quality and handling. Minor drilling is required. Vehicle must have at least 4.5" of suspension lift. Includes control arm drop brackets, bracket braces, and hardware.
 
MY personal opinion is this as I have no experience with RC or IRO. From reading all the posts on here RC has beyond top notch customer service, and IRO being a somewhat "new" company so far seems to have a decent set up. Long arms may perform better than a short arm system but drop brackets will work just as great on-road as long arms. So for the same price as the IRO 6.5" Long Arm kit you could get the best of both worlds and go with a reputible company such as Rubicon Express. Their 5.5" Extreme Duty lift which comes with control arm drop brackets and support braces and when you get the coin you could order the RE Long Arm Upgrade if you so desired to. Before making my decision to go with a 4.5" RE kit I drove two different XJ's that had long arm suspensions one was 6.5" and the other was an 8" and the on road handling was very much controllable and comfortable. However, in my opinion I felt that for a daily driver 6.5" was just too much. It looks awesome don't get me wrong, but for me it just wasnt practical. Hope this helps and like I said it is just my .02!

The RE6200 Extreme-Duty™ 5.5-inch suspension system is the ultimate suspension for XJ’s running factory short arm suspension geometry. It offers you the perfect combination of price, street performance, and enhanced trail capabilities. Designed for heavy trail-running, this suspension system is nearly indestructible. The heavy-duty track bar and front control arm relocation brackets allow for optimum flexibility and improved suspension geometry for better on-road ride compared when compared to lesser kits. The kit is designed as a complete replacement suspension and includes our Extreme-Duty™ rear leaf springs and front coil springs. Other components include new control arms with our Super-Flex spherical ball joints and Gen II sway bar disconnects. This is the best XJ lift available that retains the factory short arm design. This suspension allows the use of 35x12.5" or larger tires with proper trimming.
We recommend installing a slip yoke eliminator and CV driveshaft on stock NP231 or NP242 transfer cases. Over 3.5-inches of lift on a full-time NP242 unit may cause unacceptable vibrations on the front driveshaft, when driven in ”full-time”, constant use 4WD high range.
NOTE: This system can easily be upgraded to our Extreme-Duty™ XJ long arm suspension system at a later date.
