The Colorado Chapter is happy to invite you to attend ColoradoFest 2011, held in Ouray, Colorado. It is one of the most beautiful areas in the country. Also known as the Switzerland of America, the bulk of the trails can be run by a stock XJ, but make up with the increadible scenery.

There are lots of hardcore trails within driving distance as well.

We will be headquartering out of the KOA Campground in Ouray.

This is an event the whole family will enjoy. Don't forget your camera and extra memory cards.

You can see more about what will be happening in the events forum. There is a sampling of the trails that are available for you to view. So start now planning your family vacation.

Hope to see you there.

Thanks for the invite old man, I am wanting to come out that way sometime this year. Maybe I will fly out and my buddy and I can hop a ride.

I am seriously thinking about it and making it a family vacation. The red rocket has A/C and would be great for just scenic wheeling. The wife would love a trip of this nature vs. the ones that we are sideways and nearly upside down etc! :)

Tyler, if you figure out you can go I may try to get my dad to come along and we could possibly follow you guys out there.

There are also trails that are totally sideways and upside down available. Lots of things for the family to do if you want to do a day of hardcore. Average temps during the day are in the mid 70's that time of year.

If you need a copilot and your pops can't make it, I will probably be down for a roadtrip.

MB trails...arrrrrg. I suppose, if you have to ;-)

I'm kicking it around Tom. I haven't been wheeling in CO for a couple of years, and been missing it.

I'm seriously thinking of heading out that way too for this event. That way i can see what Colorado wheeling is all about. I've been wanting to get back to Colorado since I finished school 7 years ago.........geeez its been a long time. I am hoping to stop at some dealerships on the way out there and put some apps out there. I would love to live out there again.

I would probably either rent a car or fly out, and just ride shotgun for a couple days. This whole plan is just in pre-planning stages now.

Phil - why did you have to go and reply? Was thinkin on takin the 4x4 van out there and getting some mild wheelin with the van. That to is in the prelim stages, but with a little arm twisting.... could be a definite maybe.

We all started wheeling as a rank beginner. Each year we get absolute first time wheelers at our events. That is great.

Colorado's trails tend to be a bit different from most places and the ledge roads and switchbacks can be a bit intimidating the first few times.

I am posting up to see if anyone would like a Wheeling 101 course while at ColoradoFest. I have always enjoyed taking inexperienced wheelers over some awesome trails with safety. By the end of the week we end up with some very confident and competent wheelers that can't wait to hit the trails.

There is a thread in the ColoradoFest 2011 forum where you can sign up.
