Hey Everyone! Thought I would take a second to introduce myself!

First time on here, not to forums though! Looking forward to becoming a contributing member and getting lots of advice/info:)

Have had the XJ for a year now, but was the wife's vehicle, I had my 05 f150(6" lift, 35's). But since we have had our first kid, I decided that 12mpg's, and the 5'2" wife trying to get the baby into the truck was tooo much of a hasle, so I traded that in for a new focus for her and i took over the XJ!!

Its a '00 4 door sport, black and completely stock. Which I HATE. By winter, i have to have new tires, so I might as well lift it too, right?! :dunce:

Plans are a 3" - 4" lift to accommodate 31-32" tires without any rubbing problems. Dont want to go any higher than that, dont really think I need to, these rigs seem to be pretty capable stock.

Next BIG mod will be paint. The black paint is flaking, and its got some surface rust on the top, SOO bed line the rocker panels, and paint her flat green of some sort is the plan. Then Bumpers, etc. Although the wife doesnt know all of this ;)

I would LOVE to take the doors off, not sure if its worth it though as I have the heavy full power doors, and I dont know if they can be made to be takin off/put back on quickly.

well, sorry for the long winded post, im all hyped up on coffee this morning lol.

Welcome to the site!

Sounds like you've got some good plans for your rig. Good luck with sticking to that 4" & 31/32s. :D

Everybody says "That's all I'll ever need."

Re: Re: Intro

haha thanks guys. I know how the bug goes. You get one size lift/tires then realize, holy crap. I want to go bigger lol. But for now, I think this should be ok.

Ive just been reading that going bigger than 4" and 31's you start getting into driveline issues im not really wanting to tackle lol.

What do you all think about this tire/wheel setup

Too much money for not great tires

awesome, thanks for the feedback. Seemed a little high, what do you guys suggest tires wise. Had KM2's on the f150, loved them except they wore really funny, but i think that was more a alignment issue than anything

you heard anything about Fierce attitude tires?! seems like EVERYONE in town has them lately. Never heard about them before a month ago

I'd say go with km2's again. Mine haven't worn funny. I'm on my second set of km2's. I hear good things about the kevlars.
