Interest in winter Gulches trip

There is some interest and push for more of us to take a trip down to Gulches ORV in Indian Mound, SC. I will let Lowrange2 and Ghost tell you more about the park itself, but I wanted to get some ideas rolling.

Ghost mentioned a Jan birthday bash. Since we happen to be a day apart, I support that idea! Possibly the weekend of Jan 4th or Jan 11th? I would love to spend a birthday celebration with my NAXJA crew. Wouldn't mind hitting up a range during the trip either if we can make that happen.

Thoughts? Ideas?

OK I have not decided when I wanted to do this because I am thinking about throwing a Birthday party for me on the 12th of January. I will be 45 and this is a big deal for me I don't think I have ever had a big birthday party. Working on entertainment IE: Band and a keg from my beer supply guy! However... the Gulches Birthday Bash should happen. We have lots of January Birthday's in the SEC!
 
I'd be down for it. I'd also be down for going to the range aswell. Not sure about brining guns across the border though. I don't have a ccl yet so, does anyone know the laws for open carrying rifles and shotguns across nc/sc borders?

Long guns must be unloaded, in a case, in the trunk.

In a jeep what would constitute as a trunk? Just making sure before I start packing my guns if we decide to hit a range.

Your rear storage area works in an SUV/Wagon. The key thing is that they are out of reach and conspicuously stored for transport, not use. If you have to perform an in-jeep swan dive to get to them, you are probably ok :)
 
Keep January 11th open... just sayin.

Just to avoid slight confusion it's actually Laurens SC. Indian Mound Rd.

Like April said, I always offer so I'll offer again.

I live about 20 miles from Gulches and have a huge front yard, a pop-up camper, a fifth wheel camper, a tag a long camper and a grille. Anyone that wants to camp out at the house for free is more than welcome to. That way we could make a three day trip out of it or you can camp there. Camping there is no problem but it's probably going to be rather chilly in Jan.

I don't want to say you're wrong because I don't know for sure but I had my CWP guy tell me that in SC you can carry a long gun any way you want. But there would be zero issue with transporting it out of reach, unloaded.

Do you have a range in mind? I usually set up targets in the field beside my house on New Years Eve. We usually waste a couple hundred bucks worth of ammo. I'm sure the targets will still be set up. :)

I know Sam mentioned a long gun. What are you guys wanting to shoot? Rifles or Pistols? What distance are you guys wanting? I can do 3 yards or 300 yards.
 
I am thinking more of early Feb... Jan 12th is currently booked. When I have some things confirmed I'll post up about it.
