Install pic from today

Looks good man. I did two SYE kits today so I am beat. One for me one for MilehighXJ. I could do them in my sleep now. I went to the pull and save and scored a ZJ front drive shaft for my rear. Perfect length. Just took it on a cruise and XJ drives like a champ. Just need mess with my Tcase linkage it messed up. Should have that fixed in morning.

Well I made up for the spoiling the craft center gave me w/ its lifts today. I swapped out my tires at my storage unit today. Tiny little jack, one tire at a time, with only a breaker bar to help me.

It is just amazing to me how much different and better XJ's look lifted and with the paws and claws.

Just one more pic please, covered in mud. ;)

Look in the SlaughterHouse thread, I'm posting pics there. I wound up having to trim out my front fenders on the trail. I'm running the exact same rims/tires that RC says will clear w/o trimming and the first spot on the trail that flexes me out and my tire goes so far up into the fender I couldn't trun the wheel. Luckily Josh had a battery powered sawzall in his rig so I hacked them up right away. I hate leaving them all trimmed out, but I don't have the money for any flares just yet. I'll probably go with the Rusty's flex flares once i get the money, but only after I finish w/ lockers, gears, and body armor.

One thing I will say about this lift after wheeling, the front is butter smooth and ultra flexy on the trail. I am highly impressed with that aspect of it. I never thought a short arm kit would actually be that nice on the trail but it is, I got some serious articulation out of it (as evidenced by having to hack out about 1.5" of my fenders and still having them rub a bit on full flex). The rear on the other hand is one rough an ornery SOB. Everytime I put a front tire on a rock it was all nice and smooth and the jeep stayed flat, but when that rear tire hit it my jeep would buck into the air and slam back down like a pissed off steer. Hopefully the rear springs just need some more time to soften up because that shite is mean.

All stiff and mean rear leaves aside, I am definately happy with this lift and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

here is what the tire did to my fender

You forgot the alignment.

What's with that retarded-ass donk, or box or whatever the hell they call 'em in the shop?

Alignment? I guess I could have taken pics of me running my tape measure from tire to tire and then adjusting the tierod. It was hard enough just to keep the tape measure upand read it, don't think I could have taken a pic at the same time. All I did was a toe adjustment. There was no need to center my axle because I'm still using the stock trac-bar which is non-adjustable. Thats why I had to drill that new mounting hole 3/4" over from the factory one.

A great pic of this thing articulated, notice how the tire is still hitting the trimmed out front fender. So much for shortarm kits not flexing.

Hmmm, add any bumpstops? I've had 235s rub with a 2" BB.

Looks nice!

Bump stops? What are those? :)

True bump stops would have most likely kept me from having to trim my fenders, but at the same time they would have limited my articulation. As much as I prefer untrimmed fenders on an XJ, I'll take function over form any day. Once I get some flares and a front bumper w/ the side protectors I'll be perfectly happy with the appearence of the fenders. In the meantime however I'll be focusing on more important things for it.

I was thinking of parts actually. Cut a tire, that's an expense that hits the fun budget hard.

A while back I watched a vid Frank Z posted of his heep spitting out a track bar. You could see the tire nicely stuffed and bind on something. Not long after he changed his long arm set-up.

Well while the tires do rub a bit still, they are no longer in danger of getting wedged in the fender. Also, I ordered a RidgeLine HD steering upgrade from RJR about 2 months ago. Apparently they were on back order but last I heard from RJR is that they should be shipped around June 6th. After that comes in my next upgrade will be a heavy duty trac-bar and steering box brace from Rusty's.
