In Orange County?

good question :

Here's the deal: Anderson has been with the sheriff's department for quite a while (21 years). During his time he served in virtualy every department as he worked his way up through the ranks. He knows the place inside and out and has earned a respect of his peers and subordinates. The other people listed do not have the experience nor background extensive enough to be able to hit the ground running. At this point the situation is that whoever gets that position is there till 2010 when the new elections come around. So one way to look at the choices is to get someone in there till then that has a proved track record with the Sheriff's Department, has the understanding of the inner workings of it and get get the department through till elections or we can get someone in there who will need to learn the ropes and by the time he knows what's what new elections will be upon us. Remember: this is not a simple job. I believe that OC is the 8th largest Police Dept in the nation (I'm pretty sure it's 8).
