Important

I have Warn alloy inners in front with stock outers and OEM joints. Also now carry loaded spares including bearing/hubs.

I'm considering ditching the spares and going to Alloy USA outers and alloy joints to cut down on cargo.

Would you trust alloys (and no spares) to 4.10s, lockright, and 31s? I'm not the hardest on my stuff and I don't think I'd ever have a problem, but I'm still leary of not carrying spares. Each new trip I push the Jeep a little harder.

Opinions please.

Shafts don't take up much room, find a creative hidey-hole... it might be worth establishing a neato storage solution in your XJ though. LessLimited's wooden drawer is cool if you don't want to drop the coin on a Tuffy box, and I've had an idea rolling around in the back of my mind about a shelf with the approximate footprint of the OEM cargo cover behind the rear seat that would fold forward on a 4-bar mechanism after you stow the seat.

I have an idea for a cargo box also, but it's not the size that gets me.

I'm actually buying into this, "lighter is better" theory. At least as light as a full-body can be.

Maybe I should just diet?

I dunno... I think unless you make a drastic weight reduction its all pretty negligible.

I dono.... Ive trimmed probably 100 pounds from my rig recently...

Rear seat + Carpit weighed in at 55lbs
rear bumper end caps and a little trimming on the rear bumper was like 12 lbs
traded in my tool box for 2 canvas bags that saved like 15lbs...
took out my floor mats (i dont care about the carpit anymore) saved maybe 10lbs...
Took off my engine/tranny skid because i wasnt ever hitting it - that thing weighed a freeking lot! had to be installed with a floor jack...

I think all of that puts that much stress on driveline and other related components...

Phil and I are very close to making 2 cages... and loosing a lot of sheetmetal....

You would think going wheeling would curb your appetite for a while, but damnit it made me more hungry. Not even back a day and i'm ready to get back out there.

Works just the opposite.

held out for 5 months, i hope it doesnt work out that way again

Interco should be ashamed of themselves. My 37's measure 35.6, just went and checked some "38" TSL's a guy has for sale, 36.5" is the actuall. So what kind of pressure do they inflate these to to measure them.

20 to 0 at the half! Bears getting embarassed, wtf!

just remember, the Cards started out in Chicago in 1898 as the Racine Ave. Cardinals.
They won more NFL trophys than the Bears did.
Just think of it as a "home town team".

You do realize just exactly HOW WRONG that is???

:lecture:
Cardinal NFL Championships: 1925, 1947
Bear NFL Championships: 1921, 1932, 1933, 1940, 1941, 1943, 1946, 1963
Plus of course: 1985

But, in the end the Cards got embarassed again. Two weeks in a row they had a nice lead at half just to blow it at the end. JIM.

hmmm. So im pretty sure I will install 4.88's while im building. Any thoughts Ramsey I seem to remember you were on 4.56 and didn't feel that it was enough? I guess I will be sleeving my "frame" too. I have the material, its just a matter of welding and cutting.
I'm running 33's & 4.56's. Wish I could have went 4.88's. With my combo I'm probably close to stock, but I got use to 31's & 4.56's. JIM.
