I think there's something to be said for those that can drive something that at least resembles the original vehicle.:moon:

Very true Mark. I still have the full bodied black Jeep. But, the problem out here is JV. A full body rig will last a season or two on the tougher runs, and there are more than a few obstacles that even on 37's a full body with the original configuration will simply not make.

Besides, keeping up with the Jones's is the American way. :D

Its all a matter of personal taste, Ron. I highly respect the knowledge and talent that goes into building the buggies that you guys wheel out there, but they just don't appeal to my aesthetic sense. Now, my beat up MJ won't in any way keep up with your former-MJ-buggy, but then again I can still tote around a load of firewood and host a tailgate party if need be. I guess I just like a truck to be able to do truck things and a SUV to have some utility.

CRASH?
Jes?
Goatman?
BigRed?
PorchPuppy?

All seem to be doing JV full bodied just fine.

Threw in tard-boy to see if you're paying attention.

Not to mention Sean's rail extensions were really only good for getting the back of your leg as muddy as the outside of the Jeep.

Advantages? There are none, the XJ is stiffer than the YJ.

Rev
the ability to seat 4 and still have room for gear is pretty cool.
I'll settle for my 1500LB cargo capacity though :)

I'll agree with that one. I have AJ's and they are excellent at that.

Rev, what I meant about the frame was repair and maintenance. You can remove the whole damn body and throw on a new one when you trash the old one.

Rails that stick out further do very little to save the sides of the body. If the body is leaning inward, you'll still rub. If you are leaning the other way, you don't need the rails sticking out.

Rock rails only protect the rocker panels for the most part.

Ditto on getting yer pants muddy getting in and out. :Laugh3:

Rob ... I know you are talking to Rev ... but we have had (4) "framed" SWB Jeeps around here, and just about every one of them had more rust damage on the frame than on the body. The framerails on the unibody seem to resist rust much better actually.

However, on SWB Jeeps, you can pull the body off, and throw the frame away instead.

This stage of the cage is complete.
I have a question for the people at Milwaukee Tool company...

Why in the hell would you need a drill with so much torque that it breaks drill bits off three and four at a time.
AND, that every time it 'grabs' it spins a 240 pound guy around four or five times slapping his various body parts on every item with in four miles.

If any one wants a 1/2 Milwaukee drill, there is one in my garbage can, it will be at the curb Friday.

We used to say Milwaukee were the best tools made as long as you were interested in throwing them off the building.

Do you think a cordless drill would have that much torque.
