Important

I liked the redbird scenario.
State ponied up the land and cash, volunteers ranit, everybody in that area won.
The UFWDA seems to be a bit lost.
The comment about not knowing who we were irks me, and the fact that I'm coming up on a year as a member and have never recieved anything from them.

I'm convinced the Republik of Ill is headed in the same direction as the Kommonwealth of Chikago...

A nanny state where anything that is fun or remotely hazardous to your health is frowned upon and therefore-Illegal

mandatory microchipping for all dogs

fois gras (duck/goose liver) production and sale banned

smoking anywhere public

etc etc

Blowjob-o-vich and Dick Scaly can continue their gubernatorial reacharounds...

I'll be outta here soon I hope

To the greenies "motorized trail use" is the enemy,
It's far worse than that.
The sierra club wants no "mechanized trail use".
IOW, bicycles are even lumped in with motocycles, quads, and diesel 44" tired Suburbans.

Funny part is they're in bed with the equestrians. ($$$$)
Ever seen what one horse can do to a muddy trail?
500 mountain bikers couldn't do that much damage if they tried.

Erosion created the grand canyon.... yet here the forestry service has banned Jeeps and fullsize vehicles from the forests because of the erosion impact.

Thats their first excuse, the second is "it is illegal for an ATV to operate on "roads" and trails are for vehicles less than 50" wide", therefore any "jeep trail" is actually a high clearance vehicle ROAD, and ATV's cannot be allowed on it, furthermore since a jeep is wider than 50" it cannot operate on trails. Roads have to be maintained, and if four wheel drive is actually required, the road is not in good repair and will be closed.

That's what we're up against down here........it sucks.

My answer:

Copper Canyon, Mexico
4X the size of the Grand and anyone is allowed in.

Wife and I are seriously considering a monthlong wheeling, mnt biking, kayaking trip in a couple years.
Stops in Montrose, Fruita, Moab, Arizona, and Baja before heading to Copper Canyon.

Hense the "in a couple years" part.

Remember, we just got married.
It'll take a couple years before she's able to support me in the manner I'm accustomed to.

D30 goes in for surgery today. What color should I paint it?
