Important

I'm here... I was out at Prepmech's place all weekend installing home brewed 1-ton steering, Durango box and the hydro winch w/ huge cooler. Lost power in the shop, so we ran the lights off an inverter hooked to his truck. Trav, got pics?

My house had no damage. Neighbors lost trampolines, trees and basketball hoops last week from the wind, so there wasn't anything else around to get hit that I could see.

Mark hooking up the power steering lines. This is after we lost power, it is still not back on yet.

Here is the winch and the huge power steering cooler.

The one ton steering. Still got some stuff to figure out, but it is looking good so far.

What do you suggest? The geometry is just fine with the drop brackets.

not (in your case) for geometry, but for strength...

UCAs don't have to be THAT strong.
Have you ever heard of a Rusty's UCA breaking? Me neither.

i laugh at the fact that we use Rusty's as the "low grade" comparison...

i agree that most any aftermarket UCA would be a considerable strength improvement...
though I was not impressed with the Nth Degree Mobility UCA's that a friend is running - no failure, but very... small looking - less than 1" OD, and not the thickest wall either...

I suppose I could box in the bottom. Or just make new ones out of 1/8" wall rectangular tubing. Or just wait until it breaks and throw in another free part.

Why not use old paper towel tubes!
That is what I used, just paint them metalic silver and you are golden!

Really? Then where does all the money you spend on Jeep parts go?
