Important

I think I have a wisdom tooth coming out, time for some painful days and a few funny videos.

Hopefully looking at a 2 bed ranch house tonight, only 800sq ft with a 2 car garage, and probably 5 times what all you Indiana folk pay in taxes

my 100k 1100 sq ft house with 1700 sq of garage on an acre is $700/yr in taxes

mac 'cheap living' gyvr

Move southeast. My 1700 sq ft house on 3 acres with a 30x40 garage costs me $560/year in property taxes.

And my wife wonders why I didn't want to move across the river to a nice house on a lake.

You IL guys pay as much in taxes as what my house payment is a year...

mac 'that's too much!' gyvr

Texas property taxes suck......7k/yr on mine. But no income tax. Cars are 50/yr no matter value, trucks are 75 no matter value.

My property taxes went up 70% the year after I bought my house. A school levy passed to build three new schools and rebuild another two. So I'm at about $2,500 a year on a two acre 2000 sq ft in Ohio. Still better than IL I bet lol

Our property taxes are 2400 a year I believe, they are figured into the house payment along with insurance. House was built in 99 or 00 and is in city limits. Dads house is only 600 a year built in 48 with additions in various years in the county. Glad I don't live in Illinois, with over two years of no budgets taxes are going up big time.

Our taxes are not crap, relatively speaking......but at the end of the day it's still rural Missouri. House, detached oversized garage, a 30x40 shop, a @42x72 Morton building, a big barn, the hunting cabin, 125 acres w hwy frontage on half and all vehicles and machinery.........@$2400/yr.

But I still wake up in...Missouri.

Taxes, the total crappiness of IL politics, and the crappy weather are the main reasons we're going to Arizona. We're at $6700 this year, and they just re-assessed at 20% higher value, which doesn't definitely mean taxes will go up that much, but given the state of the state, it wouldn't surprise me.

If we were in the next town over, where I grew up, taxes would be over $10k

We have lake front property now, so I am sure they will tax that. It rained 4.2 inches per hour from 11:30pm until 1:00am. If anyone wants any water you may come get it.

None in your basement I hope!

Taxes are really high for indoor pools.

I'd go for the YJ if the frame isn't too rusty
