for wj's the recall goes like this:



1. if you have a factory installed hitch...you get a free inspection

2. if you have no hitch...you get nothing

3. if you have an installed aftermarket hitch, they remove it and install a factory hitch in its place and give you a $100 gift card.



its nothing like the zj recall. if i got a free hitch, i would already have had it put on. my black wj already had an aftermarket installed so it will get cut off ill get a brand new hitch and a $100 gift card. the new silver wj has nothing, so i bought a cheap 3500lb hitch to get me by for this trip. when i take it in, it gets replaced with the factory 5000lb hitch with the cut out bumper and since the hitch I bought was $85, ill still make $15 and get a better hitch.



The wj recall is due to after market hitches being too low (to clear the bumper) and in rear end collisions they get pushed directly into the tank instead of riding above it. i'm not goofy...chrylser is goofy

I thought the entire point of the recall was to protect the gas tank with a hitch?

Dodge started loosing an injector about 300 miles into this trip. Got to the camp ground n will worry about it in a few days, can't fix it here. Thinking about limping it n the boat to joplin n dropping boat at the parents house n limp dodge home w/o a trailer n hook camper to the duramax. Not the way I wanted to start vacation.

The battery in my cheap prepaid cellphone died after 2 1/2 years of use..

Replacing the battery is $10 plus shipping

Replacing the phone is $20 plus tax

Time to generate some more e-waste!
 
Raining like a sumbitch at the campground. Most would be upset, but I am just glad to see the rain, we are damn near in a drought at home.....it shows its raining there as well, I can only hope. So we will lay around n watch TV and day drink :thumbup:
 
Proving that right now.....I told the neighboring campers to not judge, so they came over to drink n watch it rain. I'm gonna try n line up a wet t-shirt contest later today....
 
Used the holiday as an excuse to take 3 days off work, to work on the jeeps, van, house, yard...

I now have working AC in all 4 jeeps!
