I think the harbor freight engine swap on the snowblower was the smartest thing I've done all year...its nice to have a machine that I dont have to fix every time I pull it out of the garage

Well I finally made a decision on a truck. Picked this 06 f150 fx4 super cab with 87k on it this afternoon. Got it from the dealer I used to work for for 12600. Pretty happy with it.

There's a good chance that my wf is just driving down in this and sleeping in the bed.

I sleep in the back of the expedition quite a bit. Barely more insulated than a cap. Your off the ground, dry and more insulated than summer tents. Works pretty well. If you are going to do it much, consider insulating the roof and the wall to the cab. Get yourself a sheet of 1 inch pink/blue expanded polystyrene and cut it to fit the floor of the bed.
