yeah Iraq and Afghanistan. sand blows, mountains are cold. Never going back to Pakistan, and I hate helicopters.
Agree! HH6 is thankfully a cold weather gal because if I never visit the desert again, I'm good. She always wonders how I still enjoy camping after 18+years of field time and deployments. I keep threatening to take her camping "army style" so she sees the difference. Haha. Somehow I think her walking a perimeter most of the night or having to dig a fighting position will make her either hate me or truly appreciate the RTT and fridge in the jeep.

This. If my dog gets out and does something dumb/aggressive and gets himself shot, yes it's on me but I wouldn't be mad about it. It is my responsibility as a pet owner to keep my dog contained within my property. Once it leaves my property state law says my neighbor can smoke it if he (legitimately) feels threatened.

That works great until someone gets seriously hurt while waiting for the county to cite the owner several times and go through the courts.

Every aggressive dog call I go on I tell the complainant they can defend themselves however they see fit if the animal is on their property and they fear for their safety. Is it an owner problem? Yes. Do owners of aggressive dogs usually care about a citation or having their dog removed? Nope.
Didn't say it was illegal to kill the pet. Just that imho it is wrong. Do I understand the desire... sure do. Just think a lot more effort should go into either getting the Bumpass's to keep their dogs away from my thanksgiving turkey or push for animal control to have the pet removed.

I am thinking about upgrading my car trailer, its 18' w/ dove, anyone here run the 20' bumper hitch units? I have the heavy gooseneck trailers, so I do not need anything that direction, just something to tote the Jeep on occasion and the SxS and four wheelers more often than the Jeep. I cant remember if mine has 16' flat w/ 2' dove or 18' flat w/ 2' dove, guess I should measure that.....
We're gonna be getting a new trailer for our move west also. The one I currently own is unfortunately already out there and it's an 18' w/DT. Don't really like the dovetail as nothing I own needs the ramp effect to get on it. I plan to look for a 20' bumper pull in the 82" width. Probably sell the 18' when I get out there as I think the 20 will be good.

My question, why do you need to go bigger? 20' is kind of over kill for a bumper pull if you already have a GN.

The trailer im building right now is about 23ft long but its also gonna have the pop up camper mounted on it so i will end up with about 15-16 deck for the jeep to sit on.

If you already have a bigger trailer why not just use it instead of buying new trailer?

I can use my Denali to pull the bumper pull trailer, so that is the appealing side to it instead of using a pickup to haul the GN. I like the thought of mounting across box on the front of the trailer for chains, binders and straps etc and have my trailer winch enclosed in it as well.

Also, my GN is a farm beater that I am not overly confident in long travels as much as I once was. I am fine w/ it for local short hauls, but those 70mph plus trips down the highway make me nervous for others safety. rather than replace the boards, tires and brakes on my current car trailer, it is not too much more to sell it "as is" and just throw another grand at it and pick up a new trailer. But I also have spendicidis...it is a sickness where I like to spend money on new things :D

In all logical thinking, I should sell both trailers and just buy a new sweet GN set up, but it falls back to only being able to be towed with the trucks, and I personally love the plush ass ride the Denali is for traveling long distances.

I'll give you $500 for your current bumper pull trailer.

Yea towing with the Denali would be a big plus on the comfort side when towing. Would have to be better than the dodge seats.

Sounds like you already have a plan in your head on what you want out of the trailer. If you could sell your current one for decent and add a little extra to it for new thats the way i would go.

The last long haul for us was the crawl in 2014. That was a long ride with sitting on those uncomfortable seats. Gonna have to try it out one of these years with the ex to make sure those seats are ok.

I'd let my current trailer go to MWC member for $1000. Now while $502 is tempting, I am gonna have to hold at $1000 :D

Cheese "but it has MWC history, and its an 06 model yo!" Man

This Dodge I picked up a couple weeks back is the ST package, which stands for "Shitty Truck" package. It has plastic floors/seat package etc. No creature comforts at all beyond cruise and A/C...which is plenty for a chore truck. Now the Denali is tits wiggling for comfort, our 2500 LTZ is a close second...thinking I may take it over soon and put Camille in something else. I'm rolling the Duramax to WF.
