Important

I have never owned a 97+

If it's like 98 5.9 it's all in the pump minus the fill/vent tube on the side.

There's a big ring that holds it all in. I never used the specialty wrench they make for that, just a screw driver to push it.

Yea they are like the niner Matt. Pretty much identical to the one I changed out down in Harlan last year.

Heck I still have a zj fuel pump lying around. You want it?

Sure, if you don't have a better place for it...

I don't have a use for it. Just sitting in the box. Pump works but fuel gauge is off about ¼ tank. It was the one out of my zj.

I'm not sure, but there's definitely a leak on the top of the tank.
I've never dropped a late model, so I don't even know WTF is up there.

are there vents and grommets like old school or does it all go through the sender?

dat's nice.

I'd like to find one just like it but with something closer to 100K miles.

Yep exactly like the ZJ's As long as you don't have issues with the J bolts it's not hard at all. It took me all of 45 minutes to swap the pump in my 99, and that included the trip to the parts store. Big ass flat head screw driver (or anything to use to loosen, and tighten the ring), hammer, the quick disconnect line tool, and IIRC 15mm ratcheting wrench to loosen the J bolts (or just cut them any buy replacements). Leave the filler, and vent hoses on, and just drop the one side down.

^that is freaking badass^

Well spent the evening teaching myself how to braze aluminum. Can honestly say they don't look very good but are currently holding so good enough for rc trucks.

Took today off to power wash the house...

Instead I found my deck...

Did that few years back to my dads side deck.

First night in the new house. No Internet till the 13th, rocking the bunny ears and DVDs till then.
