So climbing a 280ft ladder is the hardest thing I've ever done. That said, the feels when you're standing on the top are pretty intense....That said, going into the hub is insanity!

When I'm finally at my site the turbines will be 100ft taller than the one I barley made it up yesterday.
Today I'm cutting out filters, tomorrow I do tower rescue and I belive thatears I have to go off the side of the tower and repel down to the ground...yikes.

Nothing near that exciting. Defensive tactics/takedown training, rolled my ankle. Didn't feel that bad at the time, so I finished the day and drove 4 hours home from Ft Wayne. The next day I found out my fibula was broken in two places. Had surgery last Friday to get a titanium plate and seven screws installed to hold it all together.

Supposedly I am getting a moon boot on Tuesday. Not sure on the weight bearing part, but it sure would be nice to get back on light duty.

I was in the moon boot the entire time, except for the 1st 10 days after surgery, just couldn't put weight on it until memorial day. If they continue to say you can't put weight on it, ask for a knee cart...I had one, it still sucks, but waaaaaaaaaaay better than crutches.

I was in no rush to return to light duty...cause it pays the same as sick leave for us...

In fact it costs more to be on light duty, gas to and from the station since I can't drive my company car, and whatever food I eat that's not from home.

I would go crazy if I had to be off my feet for that long. Hopefully it heals up quick for ya.

Sam your job sounds exciting. I think that would be neat working on those. Starting to think that a job change may be in my future. This standing in front of a machine for 8-10 hours a day playing on my phone is really not as glamorous as I had once thought. Need a little more excitement

heres a couple pics of the future Casa-del-Rewster.

Worker's Comp pays 66% of regular salary, and I can't work any part-time. If I go back to light duty I get my regular pay back, not sure about part-time though. I still have my truck, but I haven't driven it since the 16th. My supervisor said I could keep it and drive it, but I'm not going to drive a billboard if I can't get out and do something.

ICK...I get my full pay as if I was working...just no part time and no part time till I can work the full gig. Also no driving the company car (billboard) until I can work the full gig. I figured they would come get it and park it at the station (no one else will drive it), but they have so far left it at my house (as you saw).

But the pay is the same til I go back.

My factory antenna pulls digital signals in just fine. Most of them do.

The issue with digital signals is the tuner in the tv, not the antenna. If you buy a small modern flat screen, it should work with what is already installed.

I've used several digital converters and they all work about the same.

Josh could find the link faster than me, but there are small immobile digital antennas that you can buy to replace the old mess that's on your current RV. If I could manage to keep an RV long enough AND not get hurt, I'm going to put one on mine...eventually. Is it necessary, probably not. But the current 01 antenna on my winnie doesn't go up and down anymore so instead of messing with it, I'll just replace it.

there is functionally no difference between an "HDTV digital" antenna and an older "analog" antenna. There is no reason to replace it.
As josh said, the difference is entirely in the tuner.
Now, technically the HDTV antennas are more center tunes, as the FCC canned a few of the outlieing frequencies, but an old antenna will work just fine.

Holy cats...repelling down one of those would be intense. Take some video!

Southern vehicles are awesome.

Our house in town had a slab, new house in the country is on a crawlspace. Not moving again.

99-02 Silverados had cable-driven throttle bodies and shared dash bits with the GMT400s. 03-06 Silverados were drive-by-wire, nicer dash & console, but were plagued with faulty gauge clusters. All Silverados 99+ were available with the 5.3. Buy the newest one you can afford, look in the South.

The faulty gauge cluster is almost a moot point. The issue was across several lines of GM vehicles, as well as a few other vehicle brands that sourced the cluster stepper motors from the same manufacture. If you are mechanically inclined, and can solder you can replace the stepper motors, burnt out lamps, and fix the PRD321 display for around $50.

Funny you say more reliable... there's one in the parking lot with a melted fuse box :p

GM's aren't noted for that being an issue though, but really anything "could" happen. My cousins wife's ZJ had the same thing happen. Again ZJ's aren't known for melting fuse boxes, but it happened.
