Well Iowa State contacted me to say all my materials were received and they would start reviewing applications June 12th...not sure what will happen if I got the job. No sense even starting to worry until they decide if they want to consider me for an interview. For now I'm just looking for a 2nd job here in wny

The position is a video production position in the athletic department...compiling/editing and capturing practice and game films and working with the coaches to get the media to them. It sounds kind of cool....except I'm not an isu fan. So it would probably work out better than someone who is a fanboy. Good pay, state benefits and sports perks too

I work for Addison Abrasives. Not a bad job being straight out of high school. We don't sell much grinding wheels, mostly specialize in wide belt sanders and strokessanders.

Ok. I've been in machining since high school. Just looking to do something different. I think I'd really like seeing new shops and people every day. You outside sales?

It's the best part of the job seeing new people. We have an in house polishing shop as well, so 99% of what we sell we use. I'm technically outside sales, but I wear many hats as its a small company. I spend most of the week in the office, only a couple of days on the road a week. Get a lot of cool jobs come in all the time, last month we had a test rocket come in that we polished some parts for.

The company is norchuk supply. It's in Muskegon mi. They currently have a guy that travels up my way but are looking for someone local. You know how it goes with these jobs. Dang near the only way to get in is through someone else. Seems like most positions are filled before they even put ads out.

About a year and a half. Funny thing is, this was supposed to be 15hr a week part time job for the summer. Quickly got dragged into the family business. Hardest part of the business is cold calling, but once you got your foot in the door it's all about building relationships. Jeeple are good at that

I think I can be pretty good at it. My grandpa and uncle are both in sales. I feel I have the personality for it. My grandpa just had his retirement party. My favorite quote was "I spent 45 years making best friends, not selling light bulbs". He sold for medler electric his whole working life.

Yep that's the way I look at it. Time in the office (when we are productive) is my normal "work" time. seeing customers is pretty relaxing. Give it a shot. My bosses are pretty relaxed so I have it easy, mainly throwing me out there for experience half the time. Midsized accounts are the best in my opinion. They're usually very loyal, consistent and unless you screw up they'll follow you with whatever company you sell. I'm still learning but I think I found a career I wanna stick to

for those of you that do your own gears, I need recommendations for what tools I need to buy. I think I need a dial indicator with base and calipers (digital?).
I have all the basic hand tools and press and even the beam style torque wrench.
I assume not to trust HF with the tools needed to make precise measurements like the two tools I've mentioned? what brands should I consider and any to stay clear of? ill probably be buying them from amazon if possible.
ill be doing an 8.8" first if that makes a difference.
