Drove up to michigan to get a new beater 4runner. Spending the night at the guys camp ground

So what do you guys think, someone in the family is selling a Colorado Z71 crewcab, an 06 if I recall. Asking about 8000 for it with 120k on the odometer. Seem like a decent price? Looking for a newer car than my XJ and something better than my 12 MPG I get now. Truck is well cared for, 2" lift with 32x11.5 tires.

Great, I need to change them on mine but at least the rear shocks were easy

It didn't help that I did upper ballpoints too.....you will pretty much have to disassemble everything on the engine bay fenders in order to get to everything.

For that kind of money you can get a crew cab Silverado/Sierra with a 5.3 and have the power to pull your XJ if you wanted to. The Colorado are 5cyl if I'm not mistaken.. I wouldn't.

I wonder what the difference in gas mileage is between the Colorado and silverado is. I'm guessing not such a big difference. I'm still contemplating getting a sedan, but I'm very split. After offloading the Jeep a couple of times I know I want to keep it drive able but will need to switch it to a secondary car soon. A pickup makes sense if I decide to tow the jeep, but I don't see that being necessary in the near future (plenty of family I can bargain a tow out of in a bind)

A Sedan would make a lot of sense as far as saving gas on. 13mpg vs 25+ isn't hard to figure out. Problem with a sedan little cargo room. A Subaru Impreza hatchback seems like a good compromise, but pricey.

Regardless, by the end of the summer I'll need to purchase a new vehicle.

Have you seen the process to change front rotors on a Colorado? I'd run.

I've heard Colorados are junk. Lots of little things that go wrong with them. A guy I work with had one, and you would have thought he'd won the lottery when a tree fell on his and totalled it! Also I'm in the "you're wasting your money buying a small truck crowd". From what you lack in towing, bed size, interior room, and power over a full size truck VS the difference in gas mileage you're better off on a full size. I mean realistically a Ranger, Dakota, Colorado/S10 in 4x4 and 6cyl are going to net in the 15-18 mpg range. A full size is going to run 13-16 mpg. To me I'd put my money into the more versatile truck.

Trying to buy this quickly and sell my rust bucket. Needs a head which I have...01 limited with very little rust. Impossible to find here. Then I can be in the silver jeep club too :). This would be a dd for melissa

what a weekend...Spent all day Friday on the lake just soaking it up, and then we went to KC and caught concerts all weekend...Huey Lewis and the News, Jimmy Buffet and last night was Radkey, The Sluts and The Offspring. what an awesome time...the $9 beers got a bit spendy, so we made a few trips to the Denali before the show to rehydrate for free :D

The key here is reliable DD. I'm not sure a 25+ year old truck would be any more reliable than my XJ. Plus soon I'd build it up and need a new DD

reliable as a hammer.

scored a milwaukee M18 drill and cordless circular saw today from the facespace.
$150, brandy new, bought memorial day.

I love people that need money.

So got some good news the other day. A guy I know that sells cutting tools for Sandvik talked to one of his industrial supplier and they are looking at hiring someone in my area. He brought me up and I sent them a resume. She emailed me today and said her and her father were discussing my resume and would be in contact. Obviously nothing serious yet but I am very anxious. Getting into this sales game is all about who you know.
