Important

Anyone ever use that reflective barrier insulation? Reflectix is the brand name I'm looking at.

I'm wondering how good would keep heat in if I hung it on the ceiling. Separating the garage from the "attic" space.

We have used a lot of that stuff, just not sure on the name brand. I have it on all walls and ceiling in my 30x40 shop and it does make a considerable difference. My big shop has no insulation at all and it may as well be open on all sides.

In my small shop it is actually installed between the perlins and the tin, so it is right against the walls/ceiling. One thing I noticed was even with the insulation I was losing a lot of heat up in the rafters due to only having a loft on 1/4 of the shop. I installed 2 ceiling fans and have one sucking up and the other pushing down, it is amazing the difference that made in conjunction of me hanging the heater up 4' higher than it was originally mounted. I have gone through 50% less gas since changing those things. I am going to eventually have the ceiling all covered in tin across the bottom of the rafters and that will make a HUGE difference...and I am going to put a central heat/air unit out there and go away from the ventless hanging gas heater.

Cheese "getting the shop back in order for next years new project" Man

I'm looking at selectable locker options for the 8.8". Does anyone have experience with the eaton e locker or ox? I'm looking for a good option that doesn't have the arb price and unfortunately yukon doesn't make a zip for the 8.8" :/

I had an arb in front of tj and an ox in the rear. Only prob ox ever have me was the cable stretched and wouldn't lock up. It was an easy adjustment.

I would go ox over arb, just because the airlines are a pia

First time since I have been married I am off work for vaca and wife had a job she had to go to.....weird

I wish I was off work for the holidays. Only days I get off are Christmas and new years

Me too.

That being said, I have an interview with another company tomorrow at 8am. I'll probably burn my last two "weekend days owed" for tomorrow and Christmas Eve.

Should be hearing back from last week's interview (which was about 3 hours long over lunch at Olive Garden) sometime today. I'm still on the fence about this one, but it would be nice to have a couple of options to choose from.

I worked Sunday so I could take Friday off. I'll probably still get called in, I have a feeling shit is going to hit the fan. They're shutting power off to the entire building so some contractors can get some upgrades done. Automation does not like turning back on.

IMHO figure out a way to go 35 spline while you're in there.

Cookie fragged an 8.8 on 27" tires. I fragged my 9" on 35"s. Pat destroyed his at WF a few years back.

I just don't have as much faith in them as I used to.

If you look at how the e locker really works you'll find that you don't want that for hardcore wheeling.
It's got ramps that engage a LSD clutch pack super tight, and it takes a good amount of current for the magnets.

I just got the yukon super 8.8" kit. I think I'll be ok. The crown Vic is a 27 spline or something like that.

super 8.8 kit will get the job done. Doug abused one like it was an ultra 4 car this past summer on 35's.

I have the day after Christmas off and New Year's Eve off. After that my next day off may be January 18th cause school starts back the 5th for my second job.

Then work til almost winterfest.

It's good tho, I want to take a chunk of summer off again.

8.8 is best option for rear axle swap in a 5.9?

mac 'in bed' gyvr

8.8" with the artec truss swap kit makes it super easy.

31 spline. As was my 9 and pats 9.

It will live for a while. Mine did. With a whopping 90hp at the wheels :p

I'll see what my options are before I drop the dough in a new locker. I mean I can't have much more HP than that with just a bolt on or two to the motor. ;)

You can have dutchman or moser make 35 spline shafts for an 8.8. I think your only option becomes spool though.

Fwiw we just swapped out tims super 88 shafts before moab. All were twisted but none broke, if you want a selectable nut up and put an ARB in it. They are expensive for a reason but his has been trouble free for 7 years save for one incident because of a shoddy install from 4wp

9" is junk unless you put 35 spline shafts in it or decrease your weight significantly

You are confusing an elocker with an auburn ECTED which is an undeniable piece of shit. The elocker has 4 spider gears and a locking collar similar to an ARB and a jk rubicon locker
