Yesterday was probably the most interesting and funnest class i have taken yet. Wind Power. so we go straight into the lab portion because of daylight issues. find a harness, check to make sure it is good and fits, strap up, find a helmet, head out to the tower.

Being our 1st time out we only climbed 15ft. we had to climb up twice using the 3 points of contact and 100% tie off rule. that had to of been the hardest part for most of us. takes a lot of consecration to get that down. all the ladder hooks and carabiners are double action, so that takes a bit to get used to. also he gave us the option of gloves or no gloves. i have not figured out what i like yet. without gloves the double action carabiners are easy with gloves they are a pain in the ass. but at the same time, climbing seems better with gloves vs without.
On the second round we were to completely let go of the ladder and hang from our strap to get a feel for suspension trauma. that was interesting, 1st you feel the pain of just hanging, then you start to feel what is happening in your thighs. i was unaware that hanging there for 30 mins is almost certain death. afterward we were to self-rescue from suspension trauma and finally come down.

i thought it was really cool. yes it was 85* and we were in the sun carrying an extra 50+lbs and climbing up and down a ladder. still fun!

its cool to see the excitement in people when they are interested or passionate about what they are doing....so many people are just drones at their job and hate it. Enjoy Sam, and keep at it.
