Yes, years ago at my old house the garage wasn't dry walled or insulated. The first thing I did was dry wall the ceiling, that alone helped the heater.

Ceiling insulation was blown in a bit later and made even more difference.

Must be something in the air. i have been looking at houses, just in the stage of looking and not doing anything about it for now.

I'm pretty jealous of the garage A/C! Unfortunately my house is brick and it's a little out of my comfort zone to start knocking brick out to put in a window A/C unit. If I ever found a deal on a mini-split I'd probably do that instead since I'd just need two holes for refrigerant lines and power.

I am lucky though to have a little natural gas heater to keep it T-shirt weather in the winter.

I have a kerosene heater that keeps the spot it's in warm in the winter, and whatever airflow I get from the overhead doors in summer. Most of my garage work in summer is at night. I'm just happy to have a garage though...
 
Me and the wife sat down the other day and drew a couple different layouts for our future pole barn house. Want to buy 10 acres and put up a 30 by 60 with 30 by 35 of that being living space. 16ft walls so the living space will be two floors.

If you want 2 floors you will need to be taller than 16 feet, the floor joists take up space, you will want to go 18 feet at least.
I do not know where you live but check the zoning dept for your area, some do not allow permanent residences in a "pole shed".
They would not here because that is what I wanted to do.
