Important

We pay $130 a month for full coverage on the Expy, the moon unit, liability on the Waggy and a trailer policy. Being old and not living in a shitty city makes a big difference.

$125 a month for full coverage on the 02 Yukon XL, 99 XJ, and car trailer. Hopefully it goes down when I switch to a better insurer next month and I'm 35 now.

I was on my way into work today and got cut off and hit the breaks pretty hard. Right after I hit a bump, immediately the jeep started making a pulsating grinding noise. I pulled over because it almost sounded like the tire tread rubbing. I crawled underneath and couldn't see anything out of place. I drove about a half mile then hit another decent bump and it started again. I accelerated and it seemed to go away for a little bit. I had about 2 miles to go so I took my time but still heard it after every bump and it stayed until I slowed down below 10mph. I have to drive it home later and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what it could be? It sounds pretty bad and I believe it is coming from the front drivers side..

I guess it's more of a scraping sound. And it pulsates pretty hard. I've always had wheel bearings make a continuous noise. I will have to jack it up in the morning and dig into it..

Check drive shafts for play/bad CV, rotor could have cracked(doubtful), front ujoints(doubtful), loose wheel, bad/spit brake pad, or it could be a wheel bearing.
Just a few ides to start.

Really sounds like a wheel bearing to me. Or a wheel bearing causing bad brake rotor binding against the caliper/pads.

So... the dumb mother****ers at state farm have taken 140 out of my account instead of the 80 that was agreed on.
Letting mom deal with it cause I'll give them an earful and tell them to cancel my account.
Anyone recommend a better company, our should I just try a different state farm agent?

leather. lots of leather.

And you live in Chicago, IIRC.

My insurance went down enough when I moved from Worcester (toilet) to Southbridge (mini toilet) that adding a trailer and another vehicle to my policy came out somewhat cheaper.

I live at the dead end of a gravel road on 12 wooded acres.
My nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away.
I live in Chicago like you like in Boston.

Crappy pic, but this thing is about to gtfo.

Those look nice.

right color and vintage limited seats with the power bases.

They're like sitting in a recliner.

Drivers is perfect, passenger needs a bolster repaired. A pretty good pick n pull find. I raped that 90 for a bunch of stuff. Someone really loved it until the day it died.

Had basement water proofed 2 months ago. The 6" of rain we got last week overwhelmed the catch bassin they installed and I got water in the basement. So I have them come out and look at it and they proceed to try sell me more services and tried telling me water was coming in in a different place than where they fixed.

I reminded them about their lifetime warranty and how the garunteed the fix they did would take care of the problem. They proceeded to try to tell me how tricky water is and sometimes they have to do more work (that I need to pay for). I then let them know that I was a mechanical engineer and that if I need to educate them on hydraulics I would be happy to do so. After a little more heated discussion they have agreed to come take a look and fix the problem.
