OK need help deciding what to do with Jeep. I'm gonna be regearing within the next year but am trying to figure out what's best to do. I'm half tempted to find a Dana 44hp and 9" to swap in. What does everyone think about this idea? I know it will be some work to get them put in but I'm wondering if this would be better for us since it will give us stronger axles. We are wanting to start pushing the Jeep a little more but still be able to drive it on the road. What is everyone's opinions on this?

Starting insurance on the jeep tomorrow. 80 a month. :(

How old are you? If you are under 25, sounds right. My insurance on my Jeep is 58 a month when I divide what I pay every six months and I am 32. Would have been more, but since my wife's care is included along with my Honda, we get a nice discount. My car is only $100 more (every six months) for full coverage also.

EDIT: Even over 25, on liability only sounds right.

Yep, you are held captive by the insurance people until 25, then it starts to get reasonable. The only way to make it cheaper right now, under 25, is to get married. I've been there and it sucks. My 2009 Accord runs me the same amount that your XJ runs you.

I was paying $29 for liability on my old xj. We got full coverage on the zj and it's only $51 a month.

I pay $289/6 months for plpd.

senior discount

$32 (liability) for the jeep and $68 (full coverage) for the jetta. Helps that I have the house insurance with the same company.

Bent the crap out of the outer lips on my D windows at WF, which is a pita since it is a DD.

I can pop the bead and bend it back and they are balanced with beads so I'm good there.

I don't want to do that every time I wheel though, whats the answer? Rock rings? beadlocks? Forged aluminum wheels?

I pay less than $150 a month for insurance.

That is: plpd with comp on the 96 f250 and 98 5.9, and full coverage on the LJ, and RV. Plus a sitting policy on the trailer, coverage for her rings, and liability on the golf cart.

Either wheel your 30 within its limits or get a 60. The most expensive 44 on the planet is under the front of my jeep and I still wheel without trying to tear it up.

We pay $1200 a year for full coverage on the truck, the honda and the jeep. The jeep is $125 a half for full coverage. I just paid $500 for the motorhome for the year.

We pay 126/mo for:
full coverage on wifes car and my truck
liability on jeep
full coverage on camper
full coverage on trailer
