Riddle: What has blown more liquid through a small opening over the past 24 hours than the fountains at the Bellagio in Vegas?

Answer: My ass.

On the bright side, Smash Hole is getting me hooked up with the LED's for the tractor. Excited to get them on and in the field. :farmer:

You'll be happy!!

Make sure to post a pic of the tractor on the smash hole fb page when you get them on!

i am thinking more about this...i already have an open radiator sitting in the shop but that would only work if i was driving in. cleveland sucks, but the airport that is 3 miles from my house has $49 one way flights to cleveland right now...hmm

what is needed for the conversion on a renix? Open system bottle, radiator then hoses?
You need radiator, cap,and an overflow bottle.
I use an generic autozone bottle that fits in betwwen airbox and the front core support. it's $10 and fits like it was made for it. Secure it's bracket to the inner fender with three sheetmetal screws.

I have three parts stores in town.
Technically you need the heater core valve as well, but I just say piss on that because blend door. but the old renix valve must be removed, because that's how the coolant flows through the football.

I refuse to use solder on automotive wiring... it is very difficult to keep it from wicking up into the insulation and after a lot of vibration the wire will break right where the solder stops.

Also don't use shitty butt splices or a crappy "mash em smash em" stamped sheetmetal "crimper".

Good butt splices (the heatshrink kind with the sealant/glue inside, and fully brazed ferrules) and a good ratchet or hydraulic crimper will produce a crimp that is every bit as electrically solid as a solder joint without quite as much of a wire breakage problem, every time.

Alright, soapbox off. That's all :eyes:

i've come to this conclusion as well.
The heatshirnk adhesive but connectors are the fawesome.

and if you're a super cheap ass like me you'll take that pair of vice grips that got welded on and all jacked up, grind the jaws and use those to crimp things.

My renix has a 97 radiator from Napa, 97 heater hoses (no valve), and a powerade bottle for the overflow where the stock airbox used to be.

Isnt someone here from Lacrosse wi? Thinking about stopping there to fill up the truck on my way. Trying to figure out my stops.

89"every 200mi for fuel"Laredo

Edit: Looks like no Lacrosse. Most likely stopping around Tomah.

THe plan is Sanford to Mackinac (fill up), Mackinac to Menominee (fill again), Menominee to Tomah (dump fuel in from cans unless I can find a station), Tomah to Sheffield (May be pushing it, might fill up again in Mason City).

This all depends on Speed, fuel mileage, etc though.

Only one tank? I fill up every 200 also. My back tank has a hole
Yes. The rear tank drips. I havent put ANY fuel in it since Ive bought the truck and it still leaves a nice wet spot wherever I park. The kid I bought it from says he has used it on long trips but I dont really feel like putting a bunch of fuel in it and then finding a massive leak, especially on an 800mi trip. The sender is screwed up too.
I fill the front tank at ~1/4 since Im not sure if it has had the "showerhead" fixed and dont want to run it out of fuel. It takes ~13 gal to fill from 1/4 usually and I am bringing 20 gal of "emegerency" fuel in cans (mainly cause I dont like getting off of the highway in unfamiliar places).

The back tank in my f250 doesn't work either, so the p.o. told me. I haven't investigated what the problem is and I may never...but it almost sounds like we need a MWC Ford dual tank fix party...

I think the problem is circled on the grill.

I use this on any large terminals.

Regular pliers type on butt connectors. Not the cheap stripper/crimper combo, but a dedicated crimper that hasn't resulted in a failed connection yet.

The decent $20 ratcheting crimpers changed my mind on the subject, I was using the cheap stamped metal ones before that. I also have one of those anvil style crimpers I swiped from a buddy. I used it on 2ga welding cable no problem and he's used it on 2/0 as well.

I never bothered to look at hydraulic crimpers, I assumed they were fairly expensive. Looks like you can get a pair for $60. That might be a future investment.

Mine took 2 ml to get to 4ppm on a 55gallon tank, depending on the concentration of the ammonia you buy will depend on how much you need to use on your tank. Make sure you get ammonia that doesn't have any surfactants /dyes/fragrances in it. I got my ammonia at ace. Here is some decent info on fishless cycling, I couldn't find the exact website I used but there is a lot of info out there.

I only did mine this way because I wanted African cichlids which are on the expensive side but they are really pretty fish ( People think they are salt water because they are so colorful).

If you don't want to mess w fishless cycle clean your tank, add all new water, buy about 5-10 tiger barbs and put them in there and have pet store check your levels after about 4-5 weeks. When your levels drop you can add fish as you please.

Thanks! Ill try that. Ive stil got one fish alive so Ill just clean it and wait a few weeks.

I would do algae eater fish instead of snails next round. I have had snails multiply rapidly on me. last thing you want in a 10 gal tank is 300 baby snails.

i had a couple ofCommon Plecostomus they grew to be about 12+in (in a 55gal tank) and last me a good 12 or 13 years. just died several months back.

way cooler looking that snails also.

I got one of the small 10 gallon starter tanks and had 5 fish in it. A week later I went to the pet store and got to looking at fish and ended up with a fiddler crab and 9 fish in the tank. Plus I had 16 shrimp in the tank to feed the crab. It was way over populated.

The crab ate most of the shrimp and then it died. There might be one shrimp left in there. At this point there was algy on the tank and I was down to about 3 fish. So I went and got two snails, an algy eating catfish, (I never remember the names of the fish) a bubbler and 5 fish.

Everything died but the one fish and a baby bonus snail that was stuck to the live plant.
I didnt know the snails reproduced that bad.
Thanks for the info!
