Want to come do mine when you're done? :)

It's become a running joke around here, I've been talking about rewiring mine since I bought it, and that was 5 years ago. Imagine keeping a car that long!

I have new leafs in the shed for it too, looks like you are doing the same thing? I'm waiting for the weather to get warmer though since it's just barely too big to fit in the garage.

It didn't need rewired, but the truck box had all the trailer wiring run through it so now I have to redo the wiring.

Box is off to make room for the platform I am building for the golf cart, which I hope makes it's winterfest debut this year...

Had to borrow a buddies truck to go pick up steel...that's going to get old quick...

Tires are off to repack wheel bearings...

Still no water...Idiot from the village says 'it will be spring soon'...

I don't even feel like looking at one of the broken ass Jeeps I own. Especially when sitting in the heated seats in the Ferd.

One positive thing about owning a boxer. Legs are long enough to not have problems in the snow. Fur is so short, he does his stuff and goes back in the house as soon as he can.

Yeah jeep will be pretty far back on the trailer, so I hope tongue weight will be ok.

I'm more wondering about the design than anything. Such as will the 3/16th angle iron be strong enough to support the edges on the front out side the tongue?

Considering a brace...

Done for tonight...it's nap time before work...

It was a little slick here this morning. On my way in I started noticing a bunch of ice on the road. Went to hit the brakes at the first stop light in town and I locked up my front tires. If I wasn't paying attention to all the ice I'd have slid into the back of my buddy's lowered blazer. Then I look on face book and my cousin, who is a deputy, posted pics of his cruiser all smashed. He was escorting an ambulance to the hospital. He stopped at an intersection to block traffic And the ambulance hit black ice and slid right into his charger. Everyone was ok but the car and ambulance were trashed. I'm glad it got up to 50 and melted all this crap.

How heavy is the gold cart? Where are the wheel located in the channel?

I would rather add 2 braces per side and not have to worry about the ends bending over time. That being said I would go from the bottom edge of the tongue to Center line of the golf cart wheel.

We tried a design similar to that for an ATV on our hunting trailer...too much tongue weight and it sucked. I hope that yours works out better than ours did.

Cheese "it sucked bad" Man

The golf cart is 800-1000, I think.

If it weighs too much I'll turn the jeep backwards on the trailer?

I don't know where the tires will land but close to the end, they could be slightly different if the cart is put on one direction or the other.

New 8.8 finally setup. D.S. and Pinion finally at ~18 degrees. First time the rear pinion has been in proper alignment in 3 years...

What does everyone prefer for a replacement muffler? The one on the xj is starting to show its age and would like to replace it here soon. Part of me says to just put a glass pack under it but I don't know how that would sound. Any opinions?

I would recommend something other than a glasspack. I ran a cherry bomb for a few years, with no cat, doors, windows, or interior and it was very loud and annoying. You could not talk to anyone in the passenger seat without yelling. I have since put on a muffler and it is so much nicer.

my too cents

Do you still have a cat?
I've run a glasspack and straightpipe on stock size exhaust with a cat. Sounded ok and wasn't ridiculously loud.
I now have a thrush welded, 2.5 exhaust from the manifold, no cat and a turndown. pretty much same setup as Dan. Sounds good, but is louder than the straightpipe or glasspack with cat.

Imo I would do the straightpipe or glasspack if you have a cat, thrush welded or something similar if not.
