how does everyone get their cars stuck? i just dont get it...

after having to rescue my grandmother from her driveway, i am a firm believer in sipped tires. mine are a night and day difference. if i had bought KM2s instead of MTRs (i litterally flipped a coin at the belle tire service desk) id have had at least the center lugs done. ive also been very happy with the MTRs in the snow.

I'd assume siped is even better than my 'kedge grip' and this 'kedge grip' blows me away.

Nutshells and glass that comes out as the retreads wear for anyone wondering what I'm blabbing about.

I have general altimax arctic full siped tires on my lowered VW Jetta GLI and I don't have any problems driving it in a couple inches of snow... I'd recommend them.

All seasons are mediocre all-around but not great at summer and not great at winter. Better to have a set for each...

Two houses down, was gonna offer to try and pull them it but they just left out there and walked home. Tow truck came and got it.

Studded Firestone Winterforce tires on the rear of the company car will get me anywhere I can clear the snowdrift.

So far the Duratracs have impressed me in the snow. The truck will get Treadwright BFG AT knockoffs soon, undecided on the Kedge Grip since it will probably be a highway warrior.

agreed. if there is solid ground underneath, sometimes digging through isnt bad. but if there is already a good snow pack that is mostly ice... making more wont help.

if funny snow wheeling... i always try to lead. the first pass in any trail is the easiest. after that... its rev limiter if you want to make it.

They got more ice in Vincennes when an hour north, we got all snow. I have about a foot on the ground still. Roads are a mess.

Love those tires, I have a set of 205/70r15 (25"! Tiny!) studded winterforces on my DD XJ.

It will bust through snow like nobody's business and best of all... I can spin em by romping on it rolling at 20mph... and can accelerate to 80 towing a 1k lb trailer going uphill on the highway without the AW4 ever dropping out of OD.

I'm putting an AX15 in it next, which is going to be comically overgeared in first, I ran the numbers and with 3.55s/ax15/25s it will be roughly like an AW4, stock tires, and 4.56s off the line including torque converter factor. I may have to put 30s or 31s on it next just to keep myself sane.

I can get a full set of P225/75r15 Winterforces for $320, add $60 for studs installed by tirerack if I wanted :D

This is why I love them. Bang for buck they are absolutely unbeatable. Hell, back in 2011 they were even cheaper, I got a full set of metric equivalents to a 31x10.5R16 winterforce for $320... at Sears.

youll like the AX15 with 3.55s on smaller than stock tires...

my old stroker with the AX15 and 3.07s with smaller than stock tires was a damn race jeep.

I just ordered seven 33/10.50/r15 Bfg A/t's For the Jeep/trailer and full size spare.

Got them from Summit for what seemed like a really good deal $1100 shipped.
Seems really cheap considering Both Chachi and I paid like $900 or a bit more to to get our 31/10.50/r15 Bfg a/t's and we both only got 4.

Considered getting Km2's but this article kind of helped me decide to stay with the a/t's I have been happy with.

I finalized some spring plans to fly out to Boston to watch the Brewers play the Red Sox at Fenway. Their home opener and the second game. Should be a fun trip. A buddy I grew up with lives in the city and is going to make sure we see the sights and important stuff . They probably don't appreciate tailgating like we do it here, but I can make do.

96'the wife thinks its a great idea'2door

I guess they are too big to cause valve stem issues?

I saw some brands use a valve stem filter, I wouldn't want to have a problem w airing down or my trailhead deflators.

I would like to know what they are made of to make sure they don't break down into anything crazy. My buddy that worked at a tire shop recommended ceramic he mentioned hearing some use glass and it is nasty when they break down.
