Important

I have Nates (87manche) and Dustin (Parke county guy) from getting or trying to get parts at WF12 from them if they didn't change numbers. I have cell phone contact back up software and it automatically loads numbers when I get a new phone and those transferred.

I'm sure my number is written on a few bathroom stalls by mwc members :)

Had my first ever issue with rock auto today...well it wasn't actually their fault from what I can tell. They even picked up the phone and made it right on new years day...I just can't get over how easy they are to deal with. I ordered a set of timken bearings. Both were labeled on the box correctly, but one of them was definitely not the bearing it was supposed to be. They sent me a free return label and are sending what I need ASAP...

I pulled the oil pan on the LJ today. The reuseable gasket is still stuck to the bottom of the engine. On the newer ones you have to stick some gasket maker in the corners by the rear main. You think I can get away with leaving the gasket as it sits and just put the pan back on? That would sure be way easier....

Just don't want to have to redo it.

Haynes says to always do that. I never have.

If the gasket is the reusable type. I always reuse those. Especially trans pans.

I never have good luck with aftermarket gaskets. Cork... Just throw them away.

Clean both surfaces. Stick a little gasket maker in the corner and button it back up. Snug it up good and even, then go back and check them all again.

drove the xj home from the shop yesterday. i've only been parking one in the neighborhood we live in since my wife won't drive here and its a pain in the ass to move 2 cars on street cleaning days. could get up to 12" of snow so i'm actually glad the wheel bearing gave me a reason to drive the rumble monster home...

im not quite sure why, but everyone here is freaking out about the snow...i'll be surprised if it snows more than an inch, but everyone here is panicking already. i even go an email from work with our snow emergency policy. from what i can see on the radar, the worst snow will be north us...

hope you bought snow shoes ken :)

RCVs are the way to go with a 44 but I'm sure you'll get the go 60 or go home from everyone else lol. I think I'm going to get me some of those orange knuckles right there too. They'll match my RCVs :D

MY 44 is plenty tough. 60 means new wheels and a bunch of other crap..... The Reid knuckles are real nice.....I used Branik racing Arms and really like them.

I had Reid on my last 44 with crane inner Cs. I wish I would have kept that 44 and just got custom RCVs for it. How did that Zip locker do? (Good I'm guessing due to the broken shaft?) I got a zip for my 44 build. I've heard lots of good things about them
