Cuttin off fingers is no good. The whole not being able to work in the shop for a whole summer sort of sucked..

I once caught a razor knife by the wrong end and saw bone in two fingers and had to pull the blade out of my pinky fingers bone, it was parallel to my fingernails. 19 stiches across 3 fingers. Now I can't feel much on the tip of two fingers but have bitchin scars.

That looks like it probably hurt a lot more then mine though, new razor blades cut clean ;)

McShipping rules

I've also scared the crap out of McTruck drivers the last two Thursday mornings giving them Jeep parts.

I feel like I'm stalking them, I know where a truck will be at 5am.

Well I guess the mj trailer we have will just be used for hauling stuff from now on instead of a home for winter fest. Ended up getting a pop up off my grand parents for a steal so couldn't pass on it. Will be our new home at winter fest next year. Be a lot better than sleeping in the back of the Jeep.

Look for one of those electric oil heaters that you may have seen in my trailer. They will supplement/replace the propane and since most campgrounds include electric in your fee you'll save propane.

I have three in my trailer when it gets cold.

i was so happy it didn't get cut off all the way.

what did you do?

I was running late and doing a set of lift struts in a Tacoma. Wasn't thinking and put the lower coil retainer on upside down. I managed to walk it all the way over from the spring compressor to the truck. As soon as I started to fit it in the truck the thing let loose. Shattered the finger next to the middle one and cut it about 270 degrees around it. The only thing holding it on was a ligament and the last patch of skin on the bottom. The hand doc is still amazed that I can use it to this day. The bone was shattered in 8 pieces and the dumbass ER never pinned it or anything. I really should of went to a specialist sooner.

Anyways when the spring went it also hit me in the gut with the tail. Gave me about a 1/2" gash that looked exactly like a gunshot wound. When I went to the ER with my finger flopping around they didn't seem to concerned. after about 30 minutes and a shift change in the waiting room, my t shirt was soaked with blood and it was going in my pants. The new secretary lady asked if that was my finger. I said no and lifted my shirt. I was in the room seeing the doc 2 minutes later. In Big Rapids when I tell people I'm from Chicago and I get that "isn't it dangerous there" question (I don't understand why they all ask that ...) I lift my shirt up, show them the scar, and look them in the eye and say "thug life".

Probably explains why you and Dan are pretty much my only Michigan friends in the 2 years I've been living up here.

First time I was cutting the backshell off a db9 connector with a utility knife... plastic was hollow, brittle, and super glued together, it shattered when I expected to have to cut through hard rubber... knife went through the top of my left index finger. 5 stitches.

Second time I was cutting fuel tank J bolts on a 94 XJ a friend had brought to my place to part out... we had tipped it on its side (since the drivetrain was out already) to make removing the axles easier. I cut one bolt just fine, the second one bound up on the angle grinder cutoff disc and kicked it back at me. I didn't realize it cut me to the bone till I looked around the axle housing to give the bolt another shot with the grinder and realized I was streaming blood. It hit me so fast it felt like the blade guard hit me, not the disc. 3 xrays (since it nicked the bone a bit) and 3 stitches.

That finger has been cut to the bone 180 degrees around and somehow I haven't severed a nerve, tendon, or artery yet. That's luck for you.

I try to keep cutting tools away from my fingers these days.
